Welsh Camper - Next have their sale on right now (don't know how far away you are from one) and I bought a black pair of leather gloves and a woollen hat. The leather gloves were £4.00 and the hat was £3.00. The kids stuff in there for hats and gloves will be a bargain. Don't know about coats but Ebay may also be worth a look they were selling a winter white padded coat on there for 99p and £3.50 postage!

Thank you rainy, my nearest next is 12 miles away, so unless i need a few things from cwmbran or go to the dentist its not worth the petrol money, got the dentist next monday so will nip in and see if anys left lol

Bought a peter storm fleece for daughter from cs £2
qs is referbishing so sale on, winter school socks 3 pairs for £1.25

waiting to see if supermarkets have a sale on bread flour

Is it an indoor rotary line or just for outdoors?

I use it for both and am more than happy with it

I've had a look at some on Amazon and they seem like a good idea. I don't think I'd be able to use it outside with the wind we get up here, I reckon it would just blow over, but it would be handy to have up in the spare room. I like the fact you peg clothes on to hang rather than fold over like an airer so the air is able to circulate a bit better.

Having ploughed through the entire thread, I shall be following it from now on and hopefully contributing along the way! I have an extra good reason to be organised this year as baby no. 2 is due in October so I don't want to be caught short with 2 small children should the weather turn bad.

Husband thought I'd lost the plot the other day when I bought a snow shovel from Amazon but they were going very cheap and when we needed one last year, nobody had any in stock. Amazon have now sold out of this particular one so I can't post a link to share.

I'm very lucky that our house is well insulated etc. When we moved in 3 years ago it had had nothing done to it since it was built in the 1960s but we now have cavity wall and loft insulation, a new boiler and thermostatically controlled radiators and fully double glazed. At the end of last winter I had wooden venitian blinds fitted and these are meant to be excellent for warmth.

This year, we need our guttering etc., replacing so today I've rung round a few places to get some quotes and sort that out ASAP. Where it was leaking last winter we ended up with a few lethal icy patches right by the front and back doors! We should have got it done when we moved in but had other priorities -unfortunately now it's mighty expensive due to new H&S laws requiring scaffolding to do the job but hey ho!

We currently have no blinds at the bathroom or kitchen windows so I've sent off for some samples today to get those chosen and ordered so hubby can fit them ASAP.

Wonder if you would get away with a sandbag on the legs? On mine it is neat enough to be pretty sturdy but I think would take a bag.

I'm afraid you are blaming the wrong person - I have not put any fatballs out for the birds at all it is Parsonswife who has put the food out.

There are no big seeds in these fatballs, Reverbe, we make them ourselves. :D

;) Felines are my favourite ;)
  • :hello::hello::hello:You should try to get rid of those freaking squirrel on a serious note. I have had worst experiences try to get rid of them in my old apartment and i think you can blast an air-horn at them so that they run faster and faster till they scamper.
  • Many thanks for the recipe for the blackberry vodka, Patchwork quilt. :)

We have loads of blackberries around the field here, so will send hubby out to forage and make a healthy suppy of the vodka.:D

I've nearly fallen off the sofa laughing here, as the squirrels are eating the fatballs that we put out for the small birds, and hubby is firing water at them with a heavy duty water pistol, to try and chase them away.:rotfl:

I'm sure he is having a Rambo moment.:rotfl:
