Haven't really been able to do much more on the winter prep front but I am lurking. The only things happening are stocking up the storecupboard with extra tins of things that don't take much heating and some extra sachets/tubs of hot chocolate. I think I'll get a couple of tubs of instant Horlicks too.
Love the grippers, although I know if I get any we'll never get heavy weatherThat's just how it works for me.

Love reading this thread, and last year it really helped given that we had severe weather for a long period of time here. Well today the store cupboard has just taken a step further. Have just made 19 full 1lb jars of Jam and 18 half pound jars of jam from Rasps and strawbs I bought. total cost not including jars was just under £19, as SIL works on a farm and I got the fruit half price, plus the sugar on special from Tesco. Tomorrow will be the rhubarb and ginger jam, and marmalade. Next week will use the money I got back from quidco to buy tins, also using the £5 voucher from the paper tomorrow for Morrisons.Every days a School day!0

Thanks oldtractor - I am quite sad, have gone back and forward having a wee look in the cupboard, all the jars look great - bit like when you have a lovely white washing blowing in the wind - you cant help but admire it!!!!Every days a School day!0

Morrisons have got Heinz soups on offer at the moment.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
CH27 how much are they on offer for if you don't mind me asking? If they are good deals I stack them up in the garage - at this rate I'll be opening a corner shop.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money
