It's usually a couple of degrees colder up here than at the weather station but please, please, please let it get warmer. Once it gets to freezing point my heating will start working again, it was between 4 and 6 in my living room earlier today, I've had to postpone a visit by my grandchildren because of it. Their idea of cold isn't real!

Pleased to hear that you got your telly sorted Confuzzled and you're not the only one amused with silly names. My OH insisted that he took my photo standing under the Butt Wynd street sign in the very pretty village of Falkirk near St Andrews when we visited! I seem to remember that it was near to Cross Wynd... Is that the same one or is there one actually in St. Andrews? A beautiful part of the country, we stayed at Coupar. Lovely friendly people:) I suppose that the views will be a bit different at the moment, we visited in summer.
I hope that silly cat has headed back home by now.:)
Hoping for a bit of a thaw today...pretty please! The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

well you may not have been happy with the kids gloves. i ordered two xl for me (i have large hands like a man!) and a 7/10 for my daughter and hers are too short! mine fit nicely with a little room at the end so i could slip a thin pair underneath if needed.
must be getting warmer here as the icicles on my 'rones' are melting, happily dripping away... the gritter came out and gritted the parking area but left nice deep grooves in the snow so no one can drive in or out of here still :rotfl:
train services seem to be improving so we may even get out trip to edinburgh, we'll see what happens there. i'll make a judgement call on monday as we're set to leave on tuesday
does anyone know what it's like IN edinburgh city centre? have buses been running ok?
i have to work like stink for the next few days so i'm hoping we can get to edinburgh for that break, i'm gonna need it!
i hope everyone gets their heating and pet issues sorted happily and soon
stay warm!0 -

the one i'm referring to is actually IN st andrews, i think it's off north street... i can't remember all the street names but i could take you right there if i was in st andrews
we live in cupar now, it's really nice here. friendly people, all the basics and a few really lovely parks. i much prefer cupar to st andrews to be honest. the only pretty places to live in st andrews were way way out of our price range, the *coughs* affordable places are much of a muchness, a bit bleak and most of the area is devoid of trees so i found it rather oppressive.
cupar is set in gently rolling hilly farmland (plants not animals thankfully!) and we have a lot of trees :T whenever we walk to lidl i get a fantastic tree lined walk through the park along the river eden... only place that could pull me from here at the moment woudl be edinburgh (though i doubt i could get there at the moment :rotfl:)0 -
I'm supposed to be having new carpets fitted today... they said mid-morning but they have a job before mine so could be late. I'm still waiting. I'm going to have to phone the school and ask they let my DD know she needs to go to afterschool club tonight so thats going to cost me
My house is freezing, thermostate is reading 16*C but with my Raynards I feel about -16*:snow_grin I can't even do any housework as the contents of two bedrooms are filling my livingroom & bathroom up. So I'm on strike until they've been and I can claim my house back. Annoyingly I still need to put another coat of paint on the walls in my room and thought I didn't have time this morning (I would have had it done had the heating not gone off last week and the house getting so cold it was under the "do not paint when it is less than..." instructions) but it would appear I would have had time to do it AND for it to dry AND for me to clear the end of the stuff out the rooms
Off to try and make a hot coffeeCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
