    Thanks for the rec for the Homebase shovel Charis - will go and check it out when I feel a little braver about driving over there!!! Just had a hellish drive up my road on the way home. It was like driving a tank!!

    Jo 4- I really recommend the fleecy underblanket from Wilkos. I bought mine in Sept (about £7-8 for a double)- It's lovely and warm and it's like a fitted sheet so doesn't fall off.

    That must have been quite scary for you, where abouts in the UK do you live?

    Im in Glasgow!

    Confuzzled my oh had to walk from his work to my mums to collect ds as he was sent home from school early, they both then came to meet me as we have not long moved house an i wasnt sure of the route home, they met me half way so he done a total of 5 hours walking today then made me a nice cup of coffee when we got home, i really cant complain:o

    Coco, hope you your family are all nicely cosy now. Have a good rest, I'm sure that was a difficult journey!

    Kittie, my plans for the evening also involve Corrie ... plus a giant mug of tea and some of Lidl's cheapy version of malteresers.:)
    Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)

  • sorry to hear you ve had a bad day get in a nice bubbly bath with a nice hot cup of tea you deserve it after walking all that way.you ve reminded me of last winter on this particular day early afternoon i decided to take DS and my little jack russell dog ro a country park by the river about 40 miles from home to go for a long walk which we like doing but forgot to take a watch and didnt see the sign which said park shuts at dusk or earlier and with it getting dark quickly when got back to the car they had shut the barrier down and locked me DS and the dog in i panicked driving around trying to find another exit but couldnt find one in the end had to abandon the car an defrosting groceries and go for a 4 mile hike on top of the one wehad already done in search of a phone to ring up DH had to leave car there all night and pick it up iN morning and was tired cold and achey now never go out without phone always take watch and read all signs or ask times where ever i go .the next morning dh dropped me off th pick up car and i was bit naughty pretended to man i had slept in the car all night because he thought it was funny i had been locked in. have a better evening COCO.:)

    aww bless! well i guess you can all look out after each other!

    don't know if they'll close the schools again tomorrow but if it were my call i'd keep the wee one home if it comes down to all that :eek:
