We have poles here :( only because the LL put them in before we moved in this summer and as we have only been here 6 months I am not planning on changing them. I have however put voile/net up at the windows securing it on the brackets that hold the pole (can you imagine what I mean??? The pole is 3 inches from the wall held out by brackets. I have put the net wire across the bottom of the brackets next to the wall, so they hopefully work like string vests ! and keep the layer of cold are next to the window! Well thats the plan anyway) I think I have found my final pr of curtains I need to buy, but couldn't afford them today - waiting for payday!

I hope bf hasn't been put off posting on this thread, the problem seems to have been sorted by admin ;)

sadly, because we OS'ers are all so nice :D, one or two posters from other parts of the forum think its amusing to come to OS and wind us up, I'm getting quite protective of OS :rotfl:
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

I think BF suggested they might get a new username? Or I might have imagined it! Anyway, that could be the reason they've not posted.

I don't know what went on either, I think some posts must have been deleted by the time I came along this afternoon. Hate friction so glad it was sorted.

Well my fleece at the kitchen door has made a HUGE difference. OMG It is so hot in the kitchen (the oven is on) and that heat is sweeping thru into the living room - I am sitting with a vest top on :D

Anyone else get snow last night? Nothing down here.

    Keep warm people.

I just found a draught  the pantry door which is in my office is blowing a gale - the one bit they didnt double glaze! Its chilly in Manchester but we are quite snug so far. Got my layers on and blankets, hot water bottles and emergency supplies at the ready. Thank goodness for O/S

Well, our loft is now WELL insulated. Curtains with thick lining on the front door, the hall door and the front room.:D

Still got to sort out the two bedrooms and the box room, but keeping the doors closed in the meantime.:) Oil heater on the landing to help out.

Thermal blinds in the kitchen and the bathroom.:)

Sat here in a pair of warm track pants, a long sleeved cotton t-shirt and my woollen poncho type thingy.:rotfl:

Lots of telly to watch this evening, so we are off to bed soon.:o

It was dark before 5pm but I feel like it is 9pm! My body just wants to sleep.:o

Have a warm evening everyone and blessings to all of you, whatever you may need.:)

;) Felines are my favourite ;)

Absolutely awful weather here. Rain slamming into the windows so loud he had to turn up the telly and the wind still howling round the house.

Have you got a wilkinsons near you. I bought extending rods for my nets from there. I have nets, thermal blinds and curtains on my wondows.

The window in the sitting room has tab top curtains, I bought an extending shower rail from wilkos to han gthem on as we would have to hang the rail from the ceiling and I am not into that.

We also have thermal lined curtains on the front of the alcove, we draw them at night after we have had supper.
