YAY!!!
my boot issue should be solved now that i found a real bargain on evans boots from the grabbit now board! i had just been thinking yesterday, wish i could afford evans boots
i got a decent warm pair with reasonable looking tread as well as a much needed dressing gown for just 26.24 delivered, can't wait!
i even ordered them larger than i normally need, if they are a bit loose i'll just wear thick socks with them... lol don't want to have to return anymore boots darn it!
so it looks like after i receive those i'll be pretty much set for winter.
oh got a letter in saying that i have a flat inspection on november 3rd so i'll wait til after that to rig up the fleece curtains or put up any more bubble wrap, then i'm good for another 6 months0 -
I just thought I'd pop on to say that my sister has knitted me a hot water bottle cover with a pocket on the front for putting socks in so you can toast your socks overnight and wake to a nice warm pair. It's also great for putting your hands in under a blanket to really warm them up.

Confuzzled I normally take size eight but find with most of Evans footwear a seven fits me generously. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

I am normally a 4 and usually wear Evans 5.. but some styles I can get away with a 4.. their sizes vary so widely i think i is best to go and try them before parting with cash!... and I am desperate for new summer slop on pumps.. so I'll be there trying them on come spring!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
While we're on the subject of footwear, I'm looking to get new wellies for the winter that I can use for working in next summer as well (I work at outdoor events in muddy fields!). I quite fancy the look of the dunlop safety wellies-has anyone tried them and are they comfy? I've not seen them in shops to try on and would rather not have the hassle of returning them if I buy them online!
Thanks in advance0 -

Those wellies were the ones I used to buy for my team of sewage engineers because they are safety wellies as well as being resistant to chemicals. I never had any complaints about them being uncomfortable and they used to wear them for more than a few hours a day.Donna
Economy; careful management; providence. Whether you call it thrifty or frugality it all comes down to getting more for your money.0 -
Diddly thanks so much! I thought it was a long shot posting on this thread but I'm glad I did now! I want safety ones since I inevitably end up lugging heavy stuff around the aforementioned field and would prefer to be protected just in case of [STRIKE]being a clumsy fool[/STRIKE] accidents
Will see if I can persuade Father Christmas to get me some0 -
just thought i'll add, i went to help the aged yesterday in hull, and they had loads of flannelette covers and sheets from £1.50-£2.50 i love that place:heartpuls0

what a clever idea your sister had! i'm not fond of hot water bottles (i've been scalded too many times when filling them) but if i did use them i'd love a cover with that handy little pocket like that!0 -
Hello from a newbie. Thanks for all the great tips been reading for ages.
I have made 2 door draught stoppers for my daughter's rented house. Used the fleeces from Asda , Rolled up from one end and secured with 3 nice red ribbons . Dark brown fleeces on the wood floors looks good.
Easy to make and wash when needed.0
