My car had an icy windscreen today too and I've found it difficult to warm up all day really. Nipped into Mr T at lunchtime and picked up a large tin of de-icer for when the thick ice appears that takes me 10+ mins to scrape off in the morning

They have 600ml tins for £2 for Tesco own brand and £3 for a named brand. Think either is good value and may get another tin next week if still on offer to keep in storage in case I need it

Only thing left for the car is to get 2 new tyres after payday then all sorted (fingers crossed)

Better find my winter list and see what else I'm getting at the weekend. I have a bag in the spare room with pasta and tins in and not much else to get now

I'm tucked up under a blanket on the sofa with the laptop warming me up! We had a long discussion at work about the heating and complaints about it being cold and others being too warm. Young ones were cold and older ones warm with no heating on at home! Bring a jumper in!

Looking at getting myself a slanket, but lookingthrough amazon, they are £20 upward, but they have a snuggly there for £6 which look the same, does anyone have one, and if so are they ok/warm etc

QD sell something similar for under £10 we bought my Nan one a while ago but cant remember for the life of me exactly how much it was.

Hi - lurker jumping ahead 10 pages for advice.

Have made foil wotsits for between radiator/wall but how on earth do you attach them to wall - or am I just being dumb? Would blue tack work?

    Any advice gratefully received.

I used double sided sticky tape when i did ours in the last house!! Not sure if blue tack would hold with the radiator heating it.

    Hi
Can I join in? I have loved reading the last 20 odd pages, I also love this time of year.
We live in Devon and it is really cold today. Our windows leak like anything - we are having them replaced in December - it is colder inside then out so I am typing this sitting in a sleeping bag!
Does anyone know where to buy cheap sledge's?

I'm just off out into the cold!
DD2 is saying her promise tonight at Brownies - in a field with fireworks as they celebrate 100 years of Brownies/Guiding.
    Gonna be a cold one!

I'm really feeling the cold today so wearing a vest, thermal top, hoodie, high waisted thermal hot pants(fantastic!), leggings and some pijama bottoms.
Thermal-fever has hit the flat! BF got some long johns, flatmates went wild on joggers and hats in primark and i've ordered loads of fleece joggers in the asda sale and got a new thermal top and the shorts today :) Feeling snug!

Next task is to masking tape over the edges and cracks in the single glazed windows in the hall- they're so drafty! And to put up my curtains!
