    LOL!
I did the same when they had men's thick woollen wellie socks in stock - they were much warmer than the women's socks! :)

Yes I would like that old chestnut answered - how come mens clothes and fashion is much warmer and comfortable than womens???? You don't see men tottering about on high heels and short skirts lol.

Just got back from brownies meeting having witnessed my DD2 take her promise along with all the other brownies, rainbows and guides renewing their on the 100 birthday. Promise was taken at 20:10 hrs on 20/10/2010. It was cold but having thought ahead I wore my jeans over my joggers and I was toasty! Its always my bum that gets the coldest!

Yes Diddly, and they get proper pockets. I must be the only female alive who's not keen on handbags. Would love more pockets though! :D

Edit: very sweet about your DD - congrats to her!

  • Thanks for the answer, I guess I was hoping for a food flask that would keep food warm for more like 7 hours as I leave the house early. Still, it says it can go in the microwave so that's a bonus. Freezing here today so for the first time in ages I didn't go out for a walk at lunchtime. All the better for not spending!

don't worry, you're not! i miss my jeans as they provided me pockets enough for cash/debit card, keys and the odd bit of paper etc as well as my mobile phone... i can't seem to keep any pairs so i gave up on them but i miss the pockets

i knicked my daughters wee bag it's very very small but has a long strap so i can put it diagonally across my chest and on my hip so i barely notice it's there but i miss just the pockets

and i used to carry around those monster handbags back in the day:eek::rotfl:

up very very late tonight, can't sleep

anyway i turned my heat on last night but didn't really need it today however it's very very cold now just 2C the lawn and hedges are frosted over and the wind chill is at -1C.... i'm resisting though i don't feel too bad right now so i'm not going to turn the heat back on before i go to sleep.

if it's really cold tomorrow i'll just bake sorta kill two birds with one stone sorta thing :p

but i think my resolve of holding out til november for having the heating on regularly is unlikely.. ohwell i can pride myself that i didn't go soft after one nights use at least :D

so how's everyone else getting on up north?

Freezing this morning, it does not help that little one gets up about 5am, sothe heatign is on to take off the chill, lots to get this week.

    Scraper for the car
runner for ithe floor to take off the chill
    thermal blinds for kitchen,
and wooden batton over dining room window ( need to get handman to do this as I am hopeless with a drill) then i can put up some curtains properly.

Perhaps because when we are young we don't bother about the cold (especially if you were going on a night out, you didn't feel it after a few!).

When we get older we have hot sweats so don't need warmer clothes.

Or that may be the feeling of the fashion police.

Oh forgot to say I picked up a set of 'ski underwear' thermals for the kids from Lidl at the weekend, good quality, £4.99 a set (top and bottoms) so great price.

Not sure many will be left, think they were the previous week's offer.
