I've got a grey day with short bursts of sunshine inbetween. Also a good breeze so ideal for line drying laundry. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 27). Hubby also a found daughter (38).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (12 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (13, 10 & 6).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -
We had dreary grey horribleness yesterday but today is nice and sunny. I've noticed that even if it's a bit chilly outside, the sun warms up the sitting room really well ... yay for double glazing! Last night and this morning I thought there was condensation on the inside but it turned out to be on the outside of the windows - weird! Has anyone had that?Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!

i think there is quite a few of us!!
well i braved it and went and cut the grass in the back garden - came in, got a hot water bottle and a hot drink and just sat till i warmed up again!!!
also taken our meter readings and it looks like we are now just under £200 in credit :j - in a month we have spent £37 on elec and £18 on gas - is that good or bad for a 3 bed end terrace with 2 adults and a 5 yr old?
gonna go and have some lunch and then brave going out to cut the front grass!!0 -
Thanks Dollydaydream, you've just reminded me to go and read my meters! I'm waiting for the loan of a lawnmower, then for a dry day and I've got to mow a fairly big lawn. Nice idea coming into a warm drink and a hot water bottle, sounds snuggly.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!

We've had a horrible grey day, except for a brief interlude of bright sunshine when the estate agent was here valuing the house. I persuaded her to dash outside and take all the garden photos while the going was good.

:oUsing vinegar as fabric softener and then drying your clothes inside, with the help of a dehumidifier is NOT a good idea.
We tried it yesterday. The first load was OK, but we'd had a load of jeans and jumpers on the line all afternoon and they were still a bit wet by about 6pm, so we brought them in before dark and hoyed 'em on the clothes horse, in front of the dehumidifier.
After a while I started noticing a sort of "old alcohol" smell, which got worse through the evening.
I spent this morning burning scented candles, hoping the estate agent wouldn't think we've been drinking steadily for weeks.Time flies like an arrow.
