Thanks to this thread, I've got my little girl some of the lovely snuggly all in on fleece sleep suits from Primark, but they only had toddler ones for the boys. So am just wondering if any of you lovely people have seen any older boys versions or the fleecy PJs for boys this year.

Normally I can shop til I drop, so would hunt around myself, but am struggling this year as I'm in a wheelchair/scooter due to very difficult pregnancy, and I know that I can't trust dh to buy anything once I'm completely housebound, iykwim....
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

Our Precious Baby Tianna has now joined our Family, she is much loved and very welcome, xxx

thanks hun, I could only find Thomas the Tank engine for boys, and I did't think my 6yr ds would wear then, lol. I had 3 lovely ones for my 8 yr dd, and they had the fleecy pjs for her too. But they only had the flannlette button up type ones or the normal thin ones for boys....

Will def try and get back there again through if they do sell them for boys as well.

  • If you have a Dunnes Stores near you (similar to primark but better quality IMO) they has the fleecey jammies and all in ones for boys and girls last year, I haven't been near the shops really as I am avoiding spending money, so don't know if they have them in yet, but worth a look if they do.

i got my boys (5 and 6) the fleece pjs rather than the al in ones(had a vision of a night time wee going badly wrong in the all in one types!:rotfl:)

and got ds1 navy blue ones, plain top, football design bottoms and ds2 green ones, again plain top with dinosaurs on bottoms.
they def had digger/truck design as well as skulls(bit scary!!) and mini beasts,so if u can track some down there should be something to suit, they were £4.

I always forget this store as its really out of the way, but I had some lush thick curtains from there last winter and in the reduced section. Will def try and get dh to take me there too.

it's been lovely bright and sunny here the last few days. But that means cold as well. Temps not rising about 15 Celsius during the day with a touch of ground frost at night.

Yesterday I chopped a whole load of wood we had sitting in our woodshed. It was all in huge blocks so it needed chopping into burnable size chunks. It felt really quite good doing that!.. Felt like a proper 'earth-woman' lol!! It was even funnier when my husband called me in for the dinner that he had cooked. :D
So the wood is all ready and waiting. Need to get some more for the winter but that'll hopefully sort itself out.

Got some coal still in storage as well.

The chimney was swept this morning.

I hung up a curtain in the dooropening to the kitchen. The kitchen is a non isolated add on to the house and opens up into the garden. It also has the catflap in the door and gets totally freezing in winter. So to keep the cold in the kitchen and the heat in the living room, I keep an extra curtain in the doorway (sliding door).

My darling sister brought me some one-piece jammies from Scotland and they are lovely cozy and warm. That should keep us all toasty when the real cold hits.

    :-)

Reading this thread I realise that I've been doing a similar thing for years under a different motive. It's called "Staying out of the shops over the festive period" Can't stand the hysteria of packed shops and car parks and those never ending christmas carols! I buy whatever I can in advance, including all Christmas presents, cards, frozen food etc. If I'm lucky I don't have to venture out until the sales are over! (Saves me being tempted to buy things that I can live without and makes me use up all of those 'extras' that I bought "in case anyone calls!"):D It also means that I have time for the important things at Christmas like visiting old friends etc. :)

  • Morning all,

I read somewhere-pretty sure it was on this site- that this winter is gonna be worse than last, well i was snowed in with DD for 2 weeks  and just managed on what i'd batch cooked/stocked up on. Thinking i'll make/buy more this time 'just in case' but if anyone could confirm/deny this, that would really really help...i may have been dreaming the whole thing :o

    Many thanks in advance
