I have the Cool-er ebook reader and I did a lot more reading because of it. I will probably move onto the Kindle at some point next year.
  • Hi There, I posted a question about E-readers and was pointed to this thread. I wanted to know where the best deal was to buy an E-reader. Husband wants one for Xmas. He said there was one about £99 - I think he was talking about a Sony one - anyone know of any deals or discount codes/cashback companies I could use?/Where the best place to buy is? Sorry if this is the wrong place Xxx

My kindle hasn't been despatched yet...the Amazon page says it could go as early as tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

I'm still loving mine, reading free books I've downloaded the series of Anne of Green Gables books by LM Montgomery and they are great just as I remember them from Many years ago.

Just wish I had more time to read.

whether this would be more useful than getting the hard copies of books. anyone uses this and experience of it? thanks in advance.

Bought my husband a Kindle as a gift about two weeks ago and he loves it. He has bought some paid and some free books from Amazon and has quite a few free books from other sites.

He found some books which he could not convert to a readable format, but I read a forum on here last night he has been able to convert these books (http://calibre-ebook.com/)

I've had no despatch notice..it looks like I have to wait even longer for my new toy to arrive.

When I ordered mine it said about a two week wait and if I remember rightly it was about that long before I received notification it had been dispatched.

Its not a product i would buy as i prefer a good book .
But i do use the free Kindle app on my Samsung Galaxy and find the system set up by Amazon excellent particularly for the free books . Ideal for those waiting moments .

  • I've finally decided that I do want one (worried I might miss actual books too much) and now impatient to get it! Can anyone recommend a cover?

Try looking on eBay there are loads, I got mine from there (do make sure they fit the latest Kindle).
I was going to order the Amazon one but reviews said they were not so good for left handed readers and also one review mentioned a cracked screen due to the way the case fitted.
The one I purchased was a where you slid the Kindle into a holder with flip over cover which can also be used as a stand.
