Just back from Prsecot all full price now.
Interesting bit in the Daily Mail online this morning - "A Tesco spokesman said: ‘This is no computer glitch. These are discontinued products which have gone beyond the "reduced to clear" period.
So why full price?0 -
And After eights are gone from website0

No they wheren't, but i've seen it written twice today, just goes to show the writers are not very thorough with their research. I'm gutted, I never found any bargains apart from the stig socks and they got taken away from me. So if Tesco are now claiming that we can buy the 1p items then it seems they owe a lot of us MSE's big apologies after they've been so rude and pratically snatched them out of our hands and threatening to ban customers!
I wish it hadn't gone so public as I have no chance of finding a 1p bargain now
To be honest I never tried to buy any of the 1p items - briefly browsed the thread but wasn't interested in any of them and didn't want to buy stuff I won't use - having said that if I did find a 1p item now I would think twice about posting.
I did buy the Disney hoodies though for DD on the glitch and am very pleased with them.
I can't believe some of the experiences MSErs have had with the staff at Tesco and as for banning people! - well how ridiculous!0 -
I'm sure the Daily Mail would love to hear from any MSE'rs banned for trying to buy any of these products and it wouldn't surprise me if Tesco didn't grovel an apology too if contacted via their press office.0

A Tesco spokesman said: 'This is no computer glitch. These are discontinued products which have gone beyond the "reduced to clear" period.'
How does that work with the coffee that has now returned to the shelves at the correct price of £3.48? If it was discontinued, then you wouldn't see it on the shelves at all, surely?
BTW, I'm incredibly grateful to silverhairgranny and all others who posted their finds on here, as I was able to get a few of the coffees before they went back to full price, although none of the other bargains were to be had in my local store. I suspect we may have seen the end of the 1p scenario, but based on the shocking mismanagement of so many Tesco stores, we're pretty much guaranteed there will be something else on the horizon to look forward to.Lightbulb moment March 2004 (Debt £55,000) & debt-free as of May 2007 (thanks to CCCS, and a remortgage to clear last £20,000).
Looking to the future!0 -
So, while it good - before hitting the masses - how many 1p items did you manage to get?
I got 48 things over 4 different stores, equating to approx £218.

To those complaining - you're now going to have to pay the correct price for things, instead of getting them for 1p. This is the way it should be. Get over yourselves, and move on.
You don't seem to understand the point of the site! A clue is in the title! Why would those looking to be 'money saving experts' want to pay full price for things?! Or maybe you are just a troll0 -
galvanizersbaby wrote: »Were the Disney hoodies ever 1p then? - I brought them x2 with the leggings on the recent glitch with the money off voucher but I didn't realise they ever went through the till on their own at 1p?
EDIT - looking back through this thread it seems that no the hoodies were never 1p
I haven't read the papers take on the 1p bargains that Mr t claims were not a glitch...but as another poster said the researchers have not read through properly.
This thread aswell as posting the 1p items was chat. The hoodies comment I think was originally stated by myself on this thread just to let others know of the bargians I picked up thanks to Mr Ts [STRIKE]computer glitch[/STRIKE] generousity(sp);).sealed pot chellenger no992Total for 2011= £198

Is this the real reason why people have had rude assistants swiping the 1p bargains? Because we are daring to steal one of their job perks?
You could be right there luv.......my mate always comes away with loads of stuff for 1p, 5p, 10p.....the most i think has been a quid!!!...........so yeh we are probably taking away the staffs perks etc.....and usually it is because the lorry went to the wrong store , they cant send it to the right store so they sell it all off for the reduced price!!!............they jus dont want the general public to nab a bargain!!!............:mad:0 -
I worked for Tesco until recently and the store had four different managers, this was against Head Office policy and was never allowed by any of our managers. I guess some managers are slack and do not follow company policy!
At my store you were not allowed to put anything by, either offers or cheap bargains, you had to shop as a customer when you finished work.
well......it still seems to be happening in several stores round my way .......friends that still work there always bring stuff home from a 1p to a quid!!!........its not against store policy if the items are going out of date, sent to the wrong store, damaged etc...........so you really need to get your facts right !!!..............
Pah.....im off to another local Tescos to see what bargains i can pick up again for xmas!!!...........>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>:T:T:j:j0
