1p finds at Tesco thread

I took my daughter last night and we did a 'treasure hunt' around our local Tescos. Unfortunately the only product we managed to find on the list was the Head and Shoulders shampoo. I bought 8 bottles! but some scanned through at 1p and 3 scanned through at the normal price of £2.69, I kept cancelling the £2.69 ones on the self checkout and the lad had to keep coming over to authorise it. After the 3rd cancel he wanted the cancelled ones just to make sure I wasn't stealing them! when he asked WHY I kept cancelling them I told him. His face was a picture :-)Comping since 1995 Wins - July 2012: Discovery Hamper; £100; August 2012: Portable BBQ, Original Source Shower Gel0

Tesco are 'spinning' the news reports to make the best of this & stop themselves looking like complete idiots - officially & all over the papers it's planned: 'a few lucky customers will find the most amazing bargains'. At the same time, under the radar, they're urgently clearing shelves of 1p items. They'll get a goldrush of customers today, cos of the news reports - and virtually no 1p items will be there to be found - and then lots of people will get things voided at tills ... and SA's will get ratty ...and customers will get ratty (it's in the Daily Mail, it must be true).... I think it's possible Tesco have shot themselves in the foot yet again.
That's all folks - but this one's been great fun ... and every little helps!0 -
blame me:D as im the unlucky hunter who got caught surrounded and banned( which to me shows tesco were already aware of the pricing issue and were taking some sort of action apart from the most important for them which was to take the products of the shelf which even now still hasnt happened all over)
That no biggy surely? I have 3 large Tescos within 2 miles of my house :rotfl: I would just swop which one I went to....in fact....I may call into one of the other stores today to see if I can get more Head & Shoulders! everyones going to think I have a serious dandruff problem :eek:Comping since 1995 Wins - July 2012: Discovery Hamper; £100; August 2012: Portable BBQ, Original Source Shower Gel0 -
quoted from Daily Mail
Contributors to the moneysavingexpert.com shoppers’ website reported buying 59 different items for 1p each.
These included a £13 Kerplunk children’s game, £10 Disney hoodies, £8 Totes umbrellas, £7 Belkin leather iPod cases and £6 slippers.

Omg i can't believe it's in the papers
I wish i'd gone to find more bargains before MSE announced it to Tesco and the national press
I did get 3 bags of the coffee though earlier in the thread. Not sure how many MSE'ers use my local Tesaco as the shelf was full of the coffee but I'm sure now there'll be nothing left.

HIDDEN indeed they are!!!
I had the email yesterday and went straight down to the local T in search of these items! I was somewhat sceptical but still I wanted to know. Some of the items I didn't even need but thought I just want them as their 1p!!! I'l find use for them lol.
Omy visit, I found it very difficult to find any of the items, when I thought I'd found the right ones they were not 1p!
I attempted the after eight mints at the till in case they appeared as 1p when at check out level, but they didnt. I also spent 20mins wading through the head and shoulders barcodes.
It was fun I suppose, but no prevail.
HOWEVER..... I did today, as curiosity somewhat overrides my interests, I checked online on Tesco.com. And to my suprise and aw I found THE AFTER EIGHT MINTS!!! YIPEEEE!!
Armed with this knowledge I will return to T in search. Could have bought upto 10 online but the lowest shipping is £3.50!
I also could not find any other products on the list, it was as if indeed they were hidden, or most likely removed from their stock?!
I do wonder thou and does anybody know.....how these wonderful 1p products get to "be"?

I know, but (now) 394,000 views to 113 thanks isn't 'usual' for MSE.
Besides, 263 different people have posted on this thread.0
