They can Im afraid , I used to work for Tesco and best mate still does, she always comes away with loads of stuff thats at the staff door for 1p or there abouts.........

Maybe it's at the descretion of the store manager. I work in Tescos and have never seen 1p items at the staff door. There has been a message coming up on every till the last couple of days saying to call a team leader if anything scans for 1p and not to sell it. If it is normal stuff (rather than reduced to clear or old stock) I presume it will be put in a warehouse until it is scanning at the correct price again.

yep it has been a good read only thing that has spoilt it is the discussion of the email that mse send out which doesnt really have a place in here, add to that tesco were already fully aware of these errors before mse towers sent it out partially due to alert SA who notice items we bought and also partially because of me my ban and the list they had of me of the 1p items, so as i said previous dont blame mse blame me:D as im the unlucky hunter who got caught surrounded and banned( which to me shows tesco were already aware of the pricing issue and were taking some sort of action apart from the most important for them which was to take the products of the shelf which even now still hasnt happened all over)
the 1p bargains were nice but alas nothing lasts forever and you can be sure as this is tesco we are on about there will be another price glitch to take advantage of very soon.:rotfl:

  • i understand alot of people out there are mad about missing out on this offer due to it going very public, but if i had of taken the opportunity to take up this offer, i would have put some things aside for the boxes that be sent off to afghanistan to the troops. maybe its a thing to think about in the future when things are going that cheap? xx

omg how did you manage that lol been in their 3 times last 2 days and head and shoulders nowhere be found and no sign of after eights at all, unless they have only just started putting seasonal chocc out as were a few empty shelves ready for filling, was in there tonight too about 8pm, did manage to get lots of reduced foody items that i can freeze tho got 36 quid worth for 3.25 so cant complain too much.

I had a fun day today.

Needless to say 99% of the 1p bargains had gone, but I suspect much of this was down to me rechecking stores I'd been to the day before as much as anything else.

I did however fine 5 cuponks in one store and purchased them in two transactions. Whats more I thought a while later that I'd pop back on and ask CS if they had anymore in stock. Well nothing to lose eh!?

The ladies behind CS were breathing fire and flapping their wings as I approached, but I risked getting scorched and gingerly spoke up.... "cuponks" I stuttered as one dragon turned to me in a cloud of dragon smoke. "we don't sell em" she said, barely managing not to set fire to the till as she snarled. "oh, I replied, you have an empty space on the shelf where they should be and a label.........they are on clearance I believe at a reduced price". "Hang on" she said, obviously remembering something and she turned to the cupboard behind CS and pulled out a cuponk from the various trays lining its shelves. I said "I told you, you sold them" suddenly realising such a remark was putting me in mortal danger!! "Have you any others as that one is obviously reserved for someone" I asked? "Its not reserved" she says as she scans it with her charred wand....."1p" she says as she once again puffs smoke in my direction, casting me an almost friendly glance (this could have been a misread on my part though). Her colleage at this point looks over the top of her glasses and pauses from burning another custormer down the telephone line and shows a scary interest in our discussion. The dragon I was talking to looks at the older one, almost looking for direction as to what to do. "Is it reserved or does it have instructions pinned to it" she asks? " No" replies the first dragon. "Then sell it" she says to which the first dragon looks at me and demands I pay 1p there and then or face becoming a pile of charcoal on the floor!

So there you have it ladies and gentlemen, how a pair of dragons instantly managed to transform themselves to a pair of princesses, and all in Shakespears Stratford on Avon! You couldn't make it up...and I can assure you I have not! :)

Found 2 more in redditch too!

    Sweet dreams xx
