Well to be honest I think you would then have to commit to a subscription type fee to be given exclusive information on such 'glitches', I thought the whole nature of MSE was an open forum in which people can swap information to save a bit of money, not a prolonged right to an ongoing saving?!?

And is it not the nature of the beast that the only way these savings are passed on in the first place is by people,'Blabbing?!?'

Actually I think you miss the point Domthemon and I have been trying to make!!

THIS is the MSE community, the email goes out to all and sundry. I'd prefer certain things which are not sustainable if published to the world, to remain in the MSE community.

I think thats fair isn't it?

    BTW, I found 8 cuponks today :T

I do, which is why many people like me rarely post here but instead stick to PTS. The consensus of some people on here is 'don't like it, get out'. Actually we live in a democracy where we can air our views. I didn't say I have a problem with him owning it but what is very clear is how people feel uncomfortable with his egotistical self promotion, which seems to destroy many of the small fry stuff the small fry posters like us thrive on.

It also amuses me how his defenders say we want to keep things for ourselves! We would hardly be contributingto this thread if that was the case, would we?!

    I agree Dom

It was his Loophole comments which originally started to annoy me. They werent loopholes, a loophole is where you get something you are not suppose to where as Martin used this terminology on every thing where the points value when x4 was worth more then the price of the item, these werent loopholes as Tesco were offering these point values per item, they were just good worthwhile deals.

Oh dear. Not only has MSE taking the credit for this thread but has conveniently put all the information and pics there for Tesco to see. Unbeleivable!!!

A good tip for self scan :)

My hubby acts dumb at one self scan, scanning things and bagging them on the floor so the assistant is hovering telling him he has to put the items in the bag on the weight reader blah blah ... meanwhile, I'm scanning my Cuponks and socks with a box of teabags at another till whilst assistant is distracted, and all bagged and gone before assistant even knows I've been there, lol.

    Teamwork :)

    :rotfl:loving it well done

They can Im afraid , I used to work for Tesco and best mate still does, she always comes away with loads of stuff thats at the staff door for 1p or there abouts.........

Is this the real reason why people have had rude assistants swiping the 1p bargains? Because we are daring to steal one of their job perks?

  • I know I was going to sit on my hands but I notice in the edited first post that they have spoken to Tesco's press office?!

Sooooo.... we find a glitch (Tesco's are adamant this isn't one but odd how 1p coffee is back on shelves now scanning at £3.48... and odd how they aren't putting 1p labels on them)... we find a glitch and post here and tell each other and poddle off to look in store and take advantage, always following the golden rule to 'stay beneath the radar' as far as we can. Ok we make the odd faux pas but we mostly come out of it ok and keep it low key.

Now not only is it blabbed to millions, MSE are calling the press office!!! So if it wasnt intended what happens next?!?! For crying out loud! Good luck finding the 1p bargains guys, I think the eagle has flown the nest.
  • Stop sitting on your hands Dom and go suck a mint :D , no more 1p bargains to be seen here folks.

Tried today in one of the biggest stores in Belfast and no 1p bargains to be had. Walked around with mobile phone tuned to this thread but kept getting paranoid with lots of staff walking about. Strangely enough the price check scanner wasn't working and the only glitch I was 100% about had been removed from the shelf and an OoS label (Cuponk).

I'm not going to digress too far from the thread topic but I will agree with a lot of other posters on here. We here on MSE have been good enough to share tips & bargains and at times, save other MSErs from wasting a trip. The email going public has just knocked this entire thread on its head. I also have to say I'm surprised that MSE look to have taken credit for this thread by moving Silverhairgranny's post down the pecking order. I would like to thank silverhairgranny for starting what has been a fantastic thread (please say thanks to her on what is now post #2). I may not have been able to get hold of any wee bargains myself but for those that got them and saved a bit of money ... well done.
