Hi Trixiepix, did you try the tea tree shampoo and conditioner? Ive been using on DD's hair and touch wood shes not had them yet!!

A good friend also recommends french plaiting in a hope they cant get to the scalp!! She swears by it. Worth a shot I suppose!!! x

  • Hi
Just a thought about the head lice problem. Why not visit your GP. As your children are still young, they will get free prescriptions. Tell your GP the nits are a constant problem and you need his help. I know its esy to pop into the chemist and buy some lotion but hey think of the saving!
Anyway good luck with your money saving x ;)

Thank you lovely ladies for your much appreciated 'Nit' advice!!! - i've now bought some tea tree shampoo/conditioner, have yet to try it as i sprayed the girls hair tonight with leave in conditioner and combed through it ( got home from work late and was nearing bedtime) - few eggs to be found but not much thank goodness.

I'd not thought of getting the potion on prescription!! what a fab idea, DD2 has to go to docs quite frequently for pain relief reviews due to a condition she has so would be easy to add ' get those scratchy, naughtly little tickers out of my kids hair' potion added, at least then if i have it in the house i don't have to pay for it (result!!!) and it's here if i need it.

Hopefully less head scratching will be occuring, just gotta work on DD1's itchy eczema (always flares up when she's stressed!!!) but will slather her with regular creams and now things are a little less stressy at school it should start to settle down in the next few days.

Off to do a bit of ebaying if i don't get interrupted - AGAIN!!

    xx

Bit of a result with DD1 school shoes, Tesco has sale still on and managed to get her a black leather pair reduced to £11 from £22, they fit perfectly and she is really happy with them, yippee!!!

Ordered some vests and track suit bottoms from one of my catalogues as kids desperately needed them for school, so bill has been raised a bit but it had to be done - not ideal but hey needs must.

Eaten too much of the leftover christmas chocolate today, not good for my diet and i'm not even really very keen on chocolate, i blame it on hormones - lol:D!!

  • :DI think i would like to win the lottery today!:D

Right then, back to reality - spends so far today - £0, but i've yet to pop out at lunchtime and buy bread and milk.

Think i'd try to squeeze some ebaying in tonight on a five day listing, and must check out what to do for selling books on amazon as i've got tons i need to get rid of.

  • Finally this evening managed to organise myself and list 14 things on ebay - also sold 3 items tonight - amounting to the huge sum of £2.97, but i guess you gotta start somewhere and i suppose it's £3 more than i had earlier.

Hope to list more tomorrow - we'll see!!!

Spent £5 at shops on necessities (bread, milk etc) which was planned spending, was seriously tempted with some of the sale stuff they had in one of the shops but resisted temptation and felt very in control and grown up (ha ha)

    Lets see what tomorrow brings!!!

My clothing challenge funds is now back up by £16 as returned a couple of items that didn't fit - yippee!!!

Considering i had to venture into a clothes shop for the returns my purse didn't take a hit as i left as soon as the returns were sorted, no browsing just straight back to the car, as i know i would have talked myself into buying something had i looked around.

Unbelievably i'm managed to make it through the day without spending anything, result - NSD Jan = 3.

Off to do a bit more ebaying, have a few watchers on the already listed items and a bid on one - so hopefully by the weekend i may just have a few pounds to pay off of Credit cards.

Diet has been rubbish today - must do better tomorrow;)!

Thursday, Thursday, Thursday - nearly friday - yippee!!!

Planned spends today on bread etc (all worked into weekly budget)
started on next weeks meal plans ready for shopping at weekend

Quite a few watchers on my ebay stuff which is hopefully a good sign and have a few bits to post tomorrow which i sold yesterday.

Had to give the attic a wide berth today as it was getting a tad overwhelming looking at the amount of stuff up there, will check up there again tomorrow and sort stuff ready for listing at the weekend.

Must investigate a little gadgety thing i saw on tv last night which looked as though it fits into the fuse box and tells you how much electricity you are using per hour depending on what appliances etc you happen to be using - think it might be useful for being mindful about what's been left on uncessarily (something i'm a tad negligent on doing at the mo)

Dinner from the freezer stock and had enough leftovers to freeze plus a portion to take to my mums - i'm nearly feeling like a domestic goddess ((((NOT!!!)))).

    Hi Trixiepix

We have one of those gadgets. They are pretty cool and it was quite fun at first checking to see how much stuff cost to run and trying to make it go as low as possible.

The one we had you could put in your price per watt and it told you how much per hour you were using at the time and also did a cumulative total.

The only thing i will say is that after a while it kind of got ignored.

Maybe if you are going to get one have a look for a second hand one on ebay or something. Bound to be cheaper (I think the one i got cost about £30, although we have definatley saved more than the cost because of it though)
