I did my weigh in this morning and have lost another pound so that is 6 in 3 weeks - that is brilliant for me!!
Love all the talk about the soup recipes - my hubbie and I are massive fans of the dynorod soup, he made it this week, and we didn't have any leeks, and it was lacking somewhat. Back to normal this week. We tend to have it for at least one meal a day mon-fri, then eat more 'fancy' at weekends. One pot lasts 2 people that long, having BIG bowls!
That carrot soup looks good - could have a soup week as a speed week really.
Been out for lunch today (my usual Friday thing), and had ham hock to start (passed on the toast) then home made sausage and root mash. It had a bit of gravy with it. The sausages weren't fatty at all, so do you think 6 syns would cover this ?
We are out at friends tonight, but I have told her we SWing, they used to come to class with us years ago, so she said she would try to do a syn free meal.....
Moral dilemma - just been to a discount shop and bought some new trainers with some other stuff. I paid and thought she said 50.97.... when I got out to the car, I loaded the stuff into the boot, and realised the receipt said 15.97 - she had not scanned the £40 trainers properly...... She did take the security thingy off, so we both thought she had. I drove home and told my hubby and he feels torn like I do - would it be really nerdy to go back and tell them they didn't charge me for them, or take them as a bonus as I spend a fortune there anyway?
Hey ho.
Lesley xNO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........0 -

I would give them a call and explain what happened. Otherwise I think, given that you are on here and asking, you will feel guilty when you wear them that you effectively took them without paying for them. I admit that it was the shop that made the mistake but if you had handed over a £20 note and there was actually another one in there with it you would be outraged to think that they would pocket the extra money. Sorry, am pretty hardline on this kind of thingGod is good, all the time

anyone got any suggestions for nice ee lunches that i can take to work? Dont have a microwave or toaster or kettle! I try to avoid using my heB for lunch cos i tend to do cereal bars for breakfast cos i dont like getting up!
What kind of things do you enjoy eating?
I would go for something like a rice/couscous/pasta salad. Lots of chopped up veggies and maybe some tuna or ham on top. I have a lunch box with 3 segments and I put carbs into one then something like a chopped up boiled egg or some chicken meat into another and then the third is chopped tomatoes/peppers/onion/cucumber...
If you have a thermos you could take some soup, would probably be warm still by lunch time...God is good, all the time

Im just back from what feels like the Longest appointment evvvvver today at pinderfields.....Im shattered, slept In as I had a ropey sleep with headache so managed a nana for brekkie (which I only kept down until we joined the motorway
) so ate another when we got there then I missed my lunch with having the MRI then seeing the Neuro rehab team & got soooo hungry Im kind of 'past it' now if that makes any sense??
I did have a very 'naughty but nice medium latte coffee at costa coffee place on the way home....but resisted the triple choc muffin that had my name clearly all over it (I can normally find room for those even if im full to burstiing!) :A polish halo
Anyways....my team are pleased with things so far- its gonna take some time to see exactly how much balance I'l get back-and it could be another 12 months of hard work yet till I see how much 'compensation' as they call it (where my left balance organ takes over the missing one and my brain re programs the signals) Im back in 3 week for the scan results to see where things stand with the offending 'gringo' that caused all the problems....touch wood he is evicted permanently:D
Ive just got my Barium swallow to have now on monday for the hernia thing (another lovely bi product of the vertigo....throwing up constantly ) then Im done with the hosp visits (except weekly physio which is local) for a few weeks WOOOOHOOOO :rotfl:0 -
Grief Dizzy, you don't half suffer - must be the being so cheerful that keeps you going eh?
I think you're a little hero for missing out on the muffin :A
Really hope it doesn't take the full 12 months before you're betterI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Oooh you have a hard kick (rubs bum)
Sorry if I kicked too hard - you'll be glad later (I hope)
Speed food Soup (AKA - Dynorod Soup)
(syn free on Green and EE)
1 can mixed bean salad
1 can green lentils (or handful of dried)
2 cans chopped tomatoes
1 can baked beans
Handful of split lentils
2 large leeks
1 large onion
4 medium carrots
2 parsnips
1 each green, red and yellow peppers
2 vegetable stock cubes
Salt pepper
Mixed herbs
Water (enough to cover all ingredients)
Chop all vegetables. Put them and everything else into a large pan, cover with water, bring to boil and simmer until vegetables are soft (about 30 mins). Once cooked, the soup can be left chunky or blended smooth.

Hello all, busy day Dizzy! I echo Consultant's hope that it doesn't take a year for you .
Friends eh? A (tall, skinny, male, vegetarian) friend was coming for lunch today so I planned pasta with asda meatfree meatballs in tomato sauce, extra mushrooms and red peppers and some brocolli cooked in with the pasta. All nice and SW-friendly plus vegetarian. He texted to say he would bring "treats" so I quickly responded "not chocolate" (as that's where the Downfall Flakes came from last week). Bless him, he turned up with a camembert cheese, a big boursin herby garlicky creamy cheese, a big pack of cheese biscuits and (thank goodness) a load of grapes. I always use my HEA as milk, and had synned the parmesan. Oh well, onward and upward (probably!) :rotfl:
:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

EDIT - Thanks Ness, but I can't abide mushy peas, even the smell of them make me heave:o
Can't abide mushy peas either! Will do them for OH but can barely look at them :rotfl:
First WI Sunday morning but it's not looking good - my red day willpower still isn't anywhere in sight (hene the binge after 4 days on red) but green days make my weightloss painfully slow!0
