    Morning all.

I often use turkey mince to make bolognese, chilli or lasagne, I mainly do it as normal with plently of passata, garlic and herbs then cook it for ages. The only other thing I do is add a beef oxo cube and some marmite, that makes it taste more meaty. I always add the marmite, even if people eating it don't like it, you can't taste it. The other thing I do, no matter what mince I'm using, is add a splash of balsamic vinegar, it really brings out the taste of the tomatoes and balances the flavours.

Wedding invitation list is up to over 100 now!! OH's friends make up more than all my family and friends put together!!!

Today is a green day again:

Brekkie - beans, 1 hard boiled egg, 2 small WM bread (HEB)
    Snack - nectarine
Lunch - couscous with salad stuff (toms, cucumber, s.corn, beetroot, celery), another hard boiled egg, FF dressing, jelly (0.5), yogurt, mixed berries
Tea - fish pie (about 2 syns I think & HEB for the fish & HEA for cheese on top), veggies, SW chips.
Other HEA - Milk in teas.

I'll need something between lunch and tea as OH won't be home from work till 9pm and we'll have tea then!!! I've a load more of the couscous salad in the fridge so I might have that or use a few more syns.

Turkey mince - they have it on Ocado who I do my shopping with. It is £1.99 for 500g. I have ordered it to give it a try - what is the best thing to do with it?

I really like turkey mince, for both its cost benefits and low-fat yumminess. I like to make tacos with it, with lots of veg and chilli mixed in, and usually a spicy tomato sauce. before SW i would have made enchiladas with it too (with tortilla wraps).
It also makes lovely burgers but i agree you need another flavour in there to make it more robust, like herbs or chilli.

congrats on the engagement lisa :)

Last night's curry was so amazing, i reccomend it for sure. it was orginally from a low fat cookbook so the only syns were coconut and ground almonds, but it was SO worth it!!

Tonight i'm making the one pot chicken pie from this month's magazine, with a few tweaks.
I'm using chicken, bacon, onion, chopped green beans and loads of mushrooms, then sliced potatoes on top rather than mash.

    EE again today:
    Clementine, hot water with lemon
scrabled eggs, mushrooms and 2 slices wholewheat toast (HEB) 3 syns for Flora light
cups of tea throughout the day (1/2 HEA)
cucumber, ham and low fat cheddar slices (1/2 HEA)
    mugshot
1 square of fudge -- anyone know how many syns?? it's unbranded
dinner will be the chicken pie
dessert will be a toffee mullerlight

    Happy friday!:D

  • Morning everyone.

Welcome to the new faces, good to see you :hello:

Thank you everyone for your kind words, I really appreciate them xx

Lisa26 Wedding planning can overtake your life can't it. I chose to have no kids at my wedding (not that mine lasted - divorced a year later) apart from those involved in the actual wedding. They were all welcome in the evening though. My friend did the same but some people refused to attend if their kids weren't welcome so it's hard. But as someone said, it's your day and your pennies that are being spent too.

Hope you start to feel better soon Lynz, I feel for you.

I find turkey mince needs an extra seasoning too so an extra stock cube or a couple splashes of worcesetershire sauce.

A free day today for me so I'll be off to the shops at some point and need to pop into work too so that will be some walking towards BodyMagic.

The plan... not that I seem to be sticking to them at the moment. Must try harder.

    Green
    B - 2 toast (B) butter (1.5) marmite (F)
    L - Jacket P (F) Butter (2) Salad (F)
Mid aft - Fruit (F) Greek yog (1)
D - Cod (F) Steamed veg (F) either Parsley sauce (2+A) or Spicy Tomato sauce (F)
Even - Fruit (F) Choc quarky mousse (2)

Need to haul my backside on the bike today as I've not done it for 2 days.

Have a fab day everyone and :grouphug: to those who need it. xx

  • Room for a little (well heopfully soon to be!) one? Have to say you're all very inspirational on here! I did sw this time last year and lost 2 stone but lost my way over Christmas and since then have never managed to get back motivated. Means i've managed to put half of it back on since so that's not good especially when i have around 6 stone to lose... Actually writing that makes it seem even more real... I'm an ee girl - never really got my head round the red and green days... My plan today is:

    B- omlette and baked beans
    L -
T- chicken stuffed with cheese (heA) and wrapped in bacon with veg and sw chips
    S - ryvitas (heB), apple

just need to decide what to have for lunch. My biggest weaknesses are days when i dont feel like cooking or when i'm miserable, then we end up at eating out or badly and on cream cakes!

Well done to everyone who has lost!

    Hello and welcome onboard.

SNAP SNAP... I frequently don't feel like cooking .. but for me I reach for the bread for hot buttered toast or cheese sandwiches :(:(

I have to plan ahead and double up when cooking and freeze half so I have a synfree or 'on plan' dinner ready for reheating.

I also keep snack made up in the fridge.. free ones. Couscous salads, veggie rices, slices of ham.. others on here have much more interesting ideas than mine.

I find dipping in and out of here when I can helps distract me too from eating. Plus I get to catch up with everyone and steal all their great ideas.

    xx
