Ta very much kind lady..... but Im just speaking from the heart ;)

Well if only everyone could get into the same mindset ;)

It's good to see you're feeling so much better now the anti-bs have kicked in. Isn't it amazing how much trouble can be caused by something as simple as an ear infection?
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • Came across this recently which I found very interesting:-

Ten reasons to enjoy a healthy breakfast
    1. Energy levels are maintained and sustained by eating carbohydrate foods that release their energy (glucose) slowly. Your body is like a furnace, it needs regular fuel to keep it going, the fast at night needs to be broken to re-fuel and start the fire burning again to give the body energy to start the day.
    2. Missing breakfast tends to slow down the metabolism and makes it harder to burn fat.
    3. Eating a low fat, high carbohydrate breakfast is the best way to begin the day. Try to have breakfast before 10am so your metabolism starts and the fat burning process can begin.
    4. The most consistent findings suggest that eating breakfast influences the process involved in the formation and retrieval of memories and in managing complex and challenging information. Breakfast achieves this by raising blood glucose levels which makes sure brain cells are in top form.
    5. Missing breakfast is an occupational hazard: research has shown a much lower incidence of work related accidents for people who eat breakfast. To boost concentration and alleviate tiredness the brain needs feeding to keep it satisfied and alert.
    6. Slow release carbohydrates (low GI) induce a feeling of satisfaction and fullness for longer which prevents bingeing on high fat and sugary foods mid morning. Good examples are cereals high in fibre, especially porridge, which is completely natural with nothing added.
    7. The mood connection is often ignored: feeding your brain with the appropriate nutrients in the morning will cheer you up.
    8. Breakfast is a stress buster! To help you get through anxieties and problems of the day, eat foods rich in serotonin- enhancing carbohydrates and also B-complex vitamins such as granary bread and oats, but avoid too much caffeine as this will only enhance nervousness and irritability.
    9. Start the day with water; hot with lemon and ginger will detox the body, fruit or vegetable juice; especially juice high in vitamin C such as orange will help with the absorption of iron when drunk with a meal. Remember our body’s need between 5-8 glasses of water a day to help break down our food and turn it into the nutrients our body needs.
    10. Begin the day with foods rich in vitamins A, C and B and zinc to improve the immune system. These include citrus fruit, berries, melon, eggs, oily fish, whole grain cereals, wheat germ and oats.

I feel tons better now thanks;)
It scared the pants off me! with me only having one workable ear now (the 'inside bits' an labyrinth were all removed in the other ear during the last brain surgery while they were removing the tumour, so the infection wiped out the only bit of balance system that I had left.
I could have made a few quid if I had got someone to video me trying to stand up and sent it to youve been framed tho :rotfl:

Sorry but catching up on the thread...

YES I have 4 of them and I LOVE them also. I usually try to do 3 segments if I can. I have pilates, kickboxing, target toning and carb & calorie burner. The last one and kickboxing is a killer.

In fact I will get them out and dust them off for Saturday as I plan to do bike and a long walk tomorrow.

I've got pilates and carb & calorie burner too, the interval section just about kills me, in a good way!

Is there much twisting in the kickboxing one? Have found that twisting fast + repetitively really aggravates my injury. Up and down or side to side is fine, just twisting does me in!

That's really interesting, and makes so much sense. Just can't force it down :rotfl:I can just about manage a banana and a cereal bar, anything heavier or dairy just makes me feel like crap unless I wait an hour or so before eating.

So, I made it to the gym this morning -so thats me done for the week -I got another 90mins done so hopefully that will be enough for weigh in on Sunday

Can I ask what you do in the gym for 90 mins? How often do you go? Am always looking for variety! :rotfl:

Today hasn't been great, but it could have been worse

B - none, forgot it. And an inhuman effort in willpower just steered me clear of Greggs on the way in to work!
L - leftovers of last night pasta with prawns, tomato, carrot and sweetcorn
D - cod with lemon sauce, new potatoes, green beans and roasted pepper. Really not a combination to go together, but had a fuzzy head on! The lemon sauce was from the sw sauces book which arrived today, was really impressed with it.
    Banana, blackberries, 1/2 mullerlite

Syns - yes, well. An arguement in tesco with my fiance drove me into the arms of dime bar cookies and whoopie pies :o:mad::mad:
Rubbish, just seen I need hea and heb still! Dairylea and fibre + bar then I guess.

Have bought some pork mince and fennel seeds to make the sausages from this months magazine too. Will really, really try to get up early enough to make porridge before work tomorrow!

  • Hi, this thread just popped up. I would love to join. Christmas is filling me with dread and I have a holiday in 6 Weeks - AARGHH!!

Im presently 13st (OMG what happened there!) and want to lose a stone before i go. Achievable???

I also have another obstacle...... Last week I fell down while walking my dog and have fractured my ankle and torn too many ligaments to mention. :(

I have been really depressed this last week! I must sit with my foot raised and I only move when absolutely necessary. Its killing me because usually im a very active person.

So, will I be able to lose the 14lbs in 6 weeks??

    Watch this space...
  • Hello everyone, I am a bit later than usual.. I have been spring cleaning... still loads left to do because I keep stopping and watching the TV - Opps :)

    Red
    B - 2 toast (B) Butter (2) Marmite (F) - nearly forgot to have this.
    L - 3 fish fingers (6) massive salad (F) tartare sauce (1)
    D - Beef casserole (2) steamed veggies (F)
    Snx - 2 bread (B) cheese (A). 2 Ryvita (3) Cheese triangle (A).

    Syns = 12.5

I may still have some fruit and LF greek yoghurt but I am pretty full still from dinner which I only had about an hour ago.

:o:o no exercise today :o:o *hanging head in shame*

Well done to the losers this week so far, some fantastic poundage off there ladies and gent (Wootball).

I bought 4 jars of sweetner home so I can do some pudding/cake cooking.... which is the best to try first???

Now I am back at school, my meals may be quite same-y but the routine of the school day will help. This was today's menu:

Hope this is usefull / interesting to you.

Thanks Nuninge. I haven't been around as I am a teacher too, first week back for me, so have been super super busy. I am going to have a look at the Heinz 98 noodles, might be good to have in stock at work. Are they free? Do they taste alright?
