Sorry, only just say this! I would use a tin of tomatoes probably, I think I forgot to say that! If I were not so bothered about syns I would also use chopped up dried apricots which are lovely and generally would chuck in a tin of chick peas too!
I have found in the past that things like carrots dont cook well in the SC unless you cut them finely, it takes too long for them to soften enough for my likingGod is good, all the time

There are some slow cooker recipes here too:- http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=1948340&postcount=3
I do indeed, on low. I had it at a friends and it was to die for!

 5.45am?!! Well done you :A. I can't do gym in the mornings, especially not on a working day. I do sometimes go Sunday mornings as it's empty then.

Oh and I remember reading in one of the latest SW mags that Morrisons do curries in sealed bags that are low syn, I think they said they were in the tinned aisle not chilled. Does anyone know what ones (veggie) there are, and the syn values? I fancy curry for tea and I'm no good at them.
Cheers

It's taken me a while to catch up on all the chat!
I had my second weigh in this morning and have lost 2 more pounds making 5 in2 weeks - am beyond delighted! All the attempts I have made over the past few years at 'healthy eating and exercise' have meant a pound here and there and I was convinced I had reached the age where I just couldn't lose weight, but you guys have proved me wrong!!
Flutterbyuk - I have the easiest curry recipe ever if you want to give it a try. It won't be many syns.
8 skinless chicken thighs, 1 chopped onion, a tin of tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of medium curry powder, 1 chopped apple and 2 tablespoons of branston pickle. Chuck everything in a pan and simmer for 40 minutes. Yum!
The Morrisons currys are 2 syns, apart from the Thai which is 1! That is if they are the 200g ones.
Crisp £ note - sounds like you are having a hard time at the moment. Those 10 minutes DVDs are great trhat someone else mentiones - you can get a set of 4 on Amazon for about £ i think. Also someone else said about weights - I do 30-40 minutes of weights twice a week and I'm sure that is helping. It's also really speeding up my toning too!
My trainer at the gym works on about 500 calories burnt in a good hard session, so for me that would be about 50 minutes cardio at a high level and weights done in a circuit training way to burn more calories. 4 bursts at 20 minutes or so each time should do it! If you haven't got any weights, bottles of water are a good substitute. I also do my arms sitting on a ball as it works your stomach at the same time!
We went to Costco last night so the house is now full of fruit and lovely veg! I am so sad as I love the Costco experience - they had new zealand lamb boots for little ones last night (uggs without the label!) so I sorted out 3 junior Christmas presents! We had supper there, and their Jacket potatoes are fab - I used my syns on tuna mayo and coleslaw filling.
Thanks Dizzy - the dynorod soup is the secret for me I think! I can't believe how yummy something so good for me tastes!
It's my day off today so am off to a choir thing I have joined which is part of 'Singlive'. We are rehearsing 'The armed man' by Karl Jenkins and will perforn it in York Minster and The Royal Armouries in Leeds  At least I will only be one face in 200!
Right - now I'm rambling so hey ho, off we go!
