  • WI day for my and am very pleased to announce a 3lb loss. I am very pleased with myself especially as I have been off work this week being as its school holidays and have felt like I have been a bit naughty at times!!

I am aming for a 2lb loss a week - does that seem reasonable? Have set myself a target of a stone loss by Christmas - that way I should confortably fit back into my size 16 jeans that have just got that little bit too tight!!

Well done MRSMCAWBER - your total loss is amazing!!

Well done on your weight loss!:T:T

    Helloo!

I have been lurking this week but i have been mega busy so not been able to post!

Well done to everyone who has lost this week. Mrs M - you continue to inspire me! :)

I tried the slow cooked pork recipe and OMG it was gorgeous! I had it with noodles and stir fried veg and i synned a spring roll - was like a proper chinese takeaway but it was only 8 syns for the whole feast!! :D

I am currently working on my mealplan for next week :) It would be great if i can shift another stone between now and xmas so if i do gain a little bit over the festive period it wont be too bad!!

Do any of you lovely people know the syns in the new shape chocolate yogurts? They do them in caramel too :) TIA :)

Right i am offski to plan my food :D

Are these the ones your after Vickie?? I've got some ordered on our on-line shop - thought they'd be nice as a treat!:D Really struggling with the Plan this week.:(

Well done on some great losses ladies :T
Thanks for the lovely comments -you are a lovely bunch :p

Ooohh well spotted Highflyer -I have been and amended my recipe to allow for the wine :D...
I confess to being a list geek - I like order and structure otherwise Im uncontrolable :rotfl:

Vixie -glad you liked the pork.... It was a definite hit in this house - for me it was spare-ribs without the fat n bones mmmmm
*note to self* -must add the oven version in a moment (sorry whoever asked me about it -I forgot)..
Msgnomey -You are right prunes are 0.5syns each ...

Well I have the baguette dough proving as I type -so that will be turned into cobs for hubby later...and I have the lamb shanks ticking over in the remoska and OMG it smells divine - its taking all my strength not to let hubby come home to find me face down in it :rotfl: -I have a serious addiction to balsamic vinegar ;)
Right I will get off and get that recipe and be back
    Have a lovely day everyone..

    slow cooker Chinese pork
serves 4 -although I think its too much wink.gif

    RED/EE - 2 syns per serving
    1. 2 cloves garlic -grated/crushed
    2. thumb size chunk of fresh ginger -grated
    3. 2tbs soy sauce
    4. 3tbs dry sherry (or rice wine) (3)
    5. 1 star anise
    6. 1tsp 5 spice powder
    7. 1 cinnamon stick
    8. 2tbs brown sugar (5)
    9. 1kg pork shoulder -fat removed and cut into chunks
    1. mix 1-8 together in a large bowl
    2. throw in the pork and mix-cover and stick in the fridge overnight if possible
    3. the day after tip into the slowcooker and switch on (don't add any extra liquid)
    4. cook until tender -
    5. remove star anise and cinnamon stick
    6. then drain the liquid into a pan and reduce by half, add the meat back in and heat through
Now then -when I did ours what I did was do it to number 5 -then at the same time I had a vegetable stir-fry under way so I then fished out the hot pieces of pork and mixed them through the veggies and reduced the liquid in the pan down until it was all thick n syrupy and drizzled it over...
    Hope that makes sense biggrin.gif

    OVEN VERSION

Righty ho then -its pretty much the same as the slowcooker version but after (stage 2) :-leaving the meat to marinade overnight you
    • tip it into a large casserole dish and add 300ml water.
    • Then cover and place in an oven pre-heated to 150c/130fan/gas 2 and cook for 2 hours ....
    • Now you go back to the original recipe and continue from -(stage 5)
I hope that makes sense -if not -give me a yell :D

MrsM, it is so kind of you to your ideas and recipes with us all.

I'm curious about your lamb shank recipe. I just love lamb shanks but thought they might not be suitable for SW. My preferred recipe is to roast them on a bed of chopped root veg, leeks and stock. Then I noticed a recipe in an old magazine which was free on EE. What are you using for your syns?

P.S. Congratulations on your weightloss, it's amazing, you must feel so good about yourself.:T

I could suggest not to buy in the syn stuff but I suppose it's hard if you have it in for the family or you're out and about every day.

ARGHHHHH oh well I will count them as a HE as they were semi dried ready to eat (not sure how many 85g is but I'll weight some later in case i need to add some syns as well, needed them for the fibre as I'm 23 days post op TAHBSO and need to keep 'regular'
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last
