Please, pretty please can whoever it was that posted the link for the food flasks (think it was from Amazon), post it again.

I've decided to buy my son & his gf a Bamix for Christmas, (don't laugh), a Covent Garden Soup cookbook and a couple of food flasks for them to take soup to work for lunch some days. DS loves soup and they both enjoy cooking, so I'm hoping it'll be a welcome gift.

So, the food flasks link would be gratefully received, thank you so much :D

Here you go mine arrived yesterday and is great - testing it tomorrow for our SW soup night!

Oh i love this thread - Ive been sneakily watching from the sidelines for ages! I started SW 6 weeks ago and have lost every week while still having a life (choclate, wine takeaways and meals out) - in fcat the only week that I lost less than 1 1/2 lbs was the one that i didn't go out at all but thought it was ok to pick at the kids tea:naughty:

I have been doing EE which suits me great - but I also haven't had any bread or cheese at all since starting - mainly because I use my HEBs as 2 alpen lights which gets me through that midafternoon cuppa and bisucit craving beautifully...however I am thinking i might like to try a green day so i can have say - cracker and cheese but I am really scared that I will do something wrong and blow all my hard work- please can someone reassure me?

i made dyno rod soup this week and shared this forum and the recipe with my SW group and they all love it so thanks:T

I do green mostly as its cheaper for me and I have two ryvita and cream cheese almost every day. it fills up that snack time feeling and is nicer than crisps!

Back from weigh in, I lost 2.5 pounds and got my sticker for losing one stone. So pleased, as feeling really rough with tonsillitis and on penicillin so it cheered me up no end :)

Well done! :T I thought I would gain this week, but lost 1 pound which means I'm half a pound off my 1stone, so I'm going to go next week to see if I can hit my personal target of 1stone before my friends wedding which is next friday.

I've been eating a *lot* of salad since I got back into SW last May - but "salad" can be a whole range of things :)

Now it's getting colder I'm going back to things that can be quickly zapped in the microwave - either leftovers from dinner the night before (make extra on purpose) or like I had today - falafel and cous cous. Cauldron falafel are only 1/2 syn each and they're really tasty and they freeze well.

The trouble is I often end up eating in the car whilst out so reheating not always possible.

leftovers in a flask, eg stew or chilli etcf
    falafels
samosas ( i think these are 1 syn recipe around)
onion bhajias ( there are syn free recipes around)
    soup obv
    sandwiches with HEB bread
pasta sort of thing with a hot tomato sauce in a flask?

Cous cous ( cold) with salad bits pepper, onion, radish, grilled courgette, spinach etc, with chicken, ham on EE, or just veg with green. Have this with a yoggy dressing but i cant work out how to transport this just yet, so i had it plain the other day it was ok

Saying this my cupboard is bare so tomorrow im going to have to buy something and I so cant afford it! :(

Thanks for the ideas - I'll have to put my thinking cap on and see what I can come up with that fits into my crazy diary.
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

    I made some 'crisps' tonight.

I was feeling peckish and knew fruit wouldn't hit the spot. I cut some very thin slices of potato, spread them on a plate, sparyed with frylight, sprinkled with salt and then microwaved for 4-5mins.

I really enjoyed them and with some practice they could become a habit but....

    :eek:Are these legal??

Im so glad this thread is still here, I had a week away and it all went to pot then when I came home I just couldnt get my SW head back. Had WI last night and was dreading it, was trying to find reasons not to go but I went and stayed to group and was so shocked to have lost half a lb, I thought I was gonna have a big gain. Back into in today, staying to group lastnight has given me the kick up the bum to get my head back into it and I have the new mag to have a read through

Not read back on the thread yet but hope your all doing well, I have missed all your lovely support :)

They are not syn-free. Count syns as per red day potato and you won't go far wrong I don't think. Just don't have them by the ton every day :)

  • You can't please everybody and when I once said something along the lines of " going for a good, brisk walk every day will do you the world of good" I got a mouthful from one member who said "oh well, if it doesn't work without that there's no point me coming 'cos I can't walk far at all".

I love how people always make excuses for the exercise bit of weight loss...(I am guilty too, although I do actually do some exercise). They just don't want to actually change the way they live which is really what you have to do.
My SW class was basically a gossip bee for a bunch of old ladies who all complained they weren't losing weight but wouldn't do any exercise or give stuff up. That was incredibly frustrating and part of the reason I stopped going.

I think consultants should be able to tell people like it is. Otherwise SW is just another purely for profit organisation. If they aren't ready to hear that going for a walk everyday is good for you they are just pouring their money down the drain anyway.

Do the same things - get the same results.
Make a change - get different results.

Obviously if you are disabled then things are different - but I've seen a guy with CP do a seriously hard yoga class, watched a guy with downs syndrome lift weights and a room full of old people do a seated aerobics class with weights that had them all sweating. (I used to be a newspaper reporter - I'd get sent to stuff like that.)

I have a DVD at home that when I am feeling fit I try and do. It's called the 30 day shred. It's REALLY good, 20 minute workouts of interval training.
One of the things that does make me smile is that the woman on it keeps telling you that there is "no modification for star jumps. I have 400lb people who can do star jumps."
There are no excuses after that really!
Well behaved women rarely make history.
