Does anyone know of anything that is good at getting smells off hands i.e. garlic, onions etc. Been chopping onions and my hands don't half pen & ink :rotfl:

if you have something stainless steel (serving spoon / ladle or similar)
rub your hands all over it then wash as usual - meant to work , i think it does the job !

does anyone else find they have gone off fatty foods ?
the thought of a maccy d's or chip shop chips makes me want to heave and i used to love both.
i have only been doing this 12 weeks !!

Morning all - it has been a long time since I ventured onto these pages and I think my slow progress at group probably reflects this !:o I would love to be able to return with a great recipe or meal plan but instead I cheekily have a question......
I absolutely love the Marks & Spencer moroccan style fruit couscous with honey and orange dressing but at 5.5 syns do not have very often - does anyone have a lower syn recipe I could try instead ? Am really only used to making savoury couscous dishes so am not too confident with the sweet variety.
    Thanks in advance:)

    Good morning all....

2lb off for me again this week:j which takes me to 14st dead....soooooo next week I WILL be dropping into the 13's
Im going to "try" and eat more this week -Im also going to try and spread stuff out so Im eating more "little n often" ....
Today is an overcast one , hubby has left for his golf game -so Im going to try and convince myself to get my x-stitch back out.. once I have done this :p

Soooo then -today is a red one, and looks like this:-
    • lemon juice in warm water
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • 28g oats (B)
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • banana
    • activia intensely (2.5)
    • raspberries,cherries,strawberries,blueberries
    • liver
    • onions
    • carrots
    • 2tsp bisto best (1)
    • 1/2x 8" home made yorkshire pudding (5)
    • cauliflower
    • cabbage
    • fresh pineapple
    • clementine
    • ham
    • lettuce
    • cucumber
    • tomato
    • peppers
    • onions
    • beetroot
    • gherkin
    • activia intensely (2.5)
    • fibre plus (B)
So thats 2A+Bs and 11syns ... I will leave the extra 4 "just in case" -

Im not sure as I will need/want the ham salad as lunch won't be until about 3pm - but I penciled it in so there will be no last minute thinking

Its too late now Takeiteazy -but mummyof5 is right...rubbing your hands on the sink, drainingboard will remove the smells..and also in future always wash your hands under cold water when you have handled fish, garlic, onions, chilies -warm water opens the pores and allows the smells to sink in ;)
Mummyof5 -I have gone off a lot of things... red meat seems to be the latest one  .... I don't mind a little bit but more than a spoon makes me feel really heavy...

I can't go down the choc aisle when I shop as the smell makes me heave :p, Im now 26 weeks in and I still haven't had any:-
    • chocolate
    • crisps
    • cakes
    • biscuits
    • bread
    • pastries
    • take-away
    • sweets
:j and I really haven't missed any of them :T
right I will get off for now..have a great day everyone.. and keep up the great work :D

It must be costing you a fortune in new clothes.. not that that is such a bad thing :rotfl: I admire your will power re no chocolates. Do you make yourself puds? or are you a savoury person so don't need them?

I am off to Brussels for the Christmas Markets at the beginning of December and I'd like to be 1 stone lighter. At least 7lbs anyway.

    Today GREEN

    D - jurys out on this one... maybe chilli & rice (B) (F) or H/m burgers (B) chips (F) salad (F)

  • Morning all

I'm feeling very positive about SW today and am going to try and be 100% until Xmas. The only problems I will face during this time are:

    - 3 days in London next weekend
    - halloween - night out where alcohol will be consumed!
    - work award ceremony mid Nov, meal and small amount of alcohol
    - week's holiday in Canada end of Nov

So I need to plan carefully and try to balance out these events with days of 100% and perhaps save syns for specific days (though I don't like using syns weekly). I'm also going to try to up the exercise. I worked out I can only do 2 days at gym this week due to social life/weekend away. But I know I'll walk miles in London! I'm going to try to walk to work a few days starting week after next, but it's awkward as sometimes I need my car for work! Also the days I go to the gym I'll need my car as I can't carry all my work stuff, lunch and gym stuff!

Sorry for the ramblings, I've just been thinking things through and I'm determined to lose at least a stone by Xmas and I feel better writing things down.

I'm going to make some soup today, can take it for lunch tomorrow as well. I'm waiting patiently for the SW magazine to hit the shops to see what new recipes there are!

Hope you all have good days, I'll post my meals plan later.

WI this morning and thought I would STS after white bread & chinese binge but LOST 1lb now most people will be pleased with that but I am now 7.5lb UNDER club target & 3.5lb UNDER my new personal target [which I changed when I had lost 2st]. Getting a bit miffed as can't find a happy medium. I eat what I like at the weekend and count nothing but keep within plan during the week. I try to have more HEs but don't always fit them in. Hubbys moaning cos I'm too thin and I must admit I have NO BUM  which is annoying as nothing hangs nice. I need Kenny Everetts big bum trousers :rotfl:. Haven't been this weight since my late teens :D

Oh by the way [those that remember] I tried on the Tesco £3 jeans I bought last time I lost weight and never fitted into and ........... they FIT [can't breath or move] but I did them up :rotfl:.

Dizzy we will defo miss you as you have such a positive attitude to sw & all that you have been/going through and you make us laugh [am picturing a bowling ball now :rotfl:]. Am wondering how big your suitcase is and is there room for a few of us in it :D. Hope you have a wonderful time as you deserve it. x x

WTG MrsM as usual, its a fantastic feeling when you see that next number on the scales. It really brings it home that sw DOES work [more so than when its just lbs going down] IYSWIM. Well done x x
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    Good morning my lovelies!!!

Urgh - have a bad sore throat this morning. :( everytime i swallow it feels like razor blades are cutting my throat! Boo!!

Today i am trying to have a red day :)

B - 28g Weetabix minis (part heb) & banana with milk (from hea) followed by w/g crackerbread with tsp of nutella (rest of heb +1.5) Cup of tea

L - Roast chicken with butternut squash, carrots and cabbage. Gravy 2 syns. Am now skipping on the yorkie pud so that i can have some stuffing (2syns) and 2 chipolatas (1syn each according to the website)

Dessert - Skinny Cow Caramel shortcake 4.5 syns (should help my sore throat!!)

D - Might have some cheese and crackerbreads when X factor is on - 42g of cheese (hea2), ham, pickle (2syns), 6 w/g crackerbread (heb2)

    Snacks - satsumas, Yogs, Crabsticks

    Total syns - 12

Have planned some meals for next week as i have a freezer of food to use up! Am really struggling for lunches... In my house leftovers get munched before i get the chance to eat them! I cannot eat bread due to yeast intolerance so sandwiches are out... Atm if i dont have pasta n sauce or batchelors rice for lunch its chicken salad - which isn't filling me up for long enough on these colder days!! The only thing that fills me up is jacket potatos and i am now eating these at least twice a week which is partly why i keep Staying the same at WI!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I dont wanna hit that wall!! :)
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

    new beginnings...... new successes..
