Vicki, cottage cheese is low-fat but not all of it is syn-free by any means. However, I think the 'heaviest' one is only 1 syn per 100gms :)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Blimey this thing must be good......I heard you talking about me - and my laptop was switched off :D

Loving the soup recipes there consultant I can see me getting busy with the big old stockpot this weekend to get rid of the bugs & lurgy...... cant see any of em beating your magic Dyno Rod soup tho, thats a legend ;) x

Lol :rotfl::rotfl: I've said it before it's being so cheerful that keeps you going - you're amazing :D

I love soups. They're so easy to make and so satisfying when the weather is dreary. They don't all have the 'special effects' of the Dynorod stuff though (fortunately) :rotfl:

Hi everyone , I am a SW newbie, but I have been reading this thread all of this week to get me ready to start tomorrow. After being an on/off WW follower I have to say that I am actually looking forward to starting a diet  just can't believe how much you are allowed to eat. Anyway, the other reason for posting (other than saying hi) was to ask if there is anyway to work out how many syns are in the things that you buy that aren't on the list - like the WW points calculator?

There is a 'formula' for guessing syns but it is NOT 100% accurate so don't rely on it too often. You can estimate 1 syn per 20 calories but again, this doesn't always work if an item is heavy on the fat or sugar so be careful please ;)

Yeah thats what i thought. Thanks just wanted to check there wasn't one with loads of syns, i can live with 1 syn. Just couldn't face baked beans :)
  • Autumnflower i have PM'd you :)

thank you very much, you're a star :j

Looks like bran flakes are my only option for cereals though as I don't like porridge. Will have to find some seasame seed ryvitas though as I really love them, but Sainsburys don't stock them :-(

Will have to have a look in the tesco's for the £2 muller lights, it's only a local one so they might not have them but it's worth a shot eh!

I'm baccccccckkkkkkkkkk, been having withdrawal symptoms while my laptop was being 'cleaned'. We have had new anti virus software installed and my laptop was riddled with the !!!!!!s. Over 500virus's were found :eek::eek::eek::eek: no wonder my bank account was hacked. The anti virus I already had was worse than usless. Hopefully all has been fixed now though.

I fell off the wagon a bit without my backup [you wonderful people] & had chinese thursday. Yesterday I was under the weather [think it was a migraine] and slept most of the evening and all night. Had 3 slices of white bread, butter & jam to help pain killers go down :o so today am back on wagon [even though I don't count weekends].
    Food today:
    B - weetabix milk [a] coffee
L - 2 nice biscuits [4] :o was out but fancied something sweet. Better than the slice of chocolate cake I was offered but turned down :A
    T - sw chips, toms, onions, beans, t/sauce [1]
Snacks - 1 chestnut found on walk home [1? or could it be HEb?], pineapple, melon, apple, meringue [2.5], activia
    Syns - 8.5?

Dizzy you are amazing & we love you :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T what are we going to do when you are in Mexico? ;);)

Well done losers & hugs to them that need them :D

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Parents wedding anniversary today, had considered Pizza Express take out but not very slimming world friendly so we settled for a Chinese for Dad and Curry for me and Mum. I went for a vege Rogan Josh with boiled rice, and half a poppadom, and some salad, no dressing. Did pour myself a glass of wine but left it after 2 sips. Can't believe It seems I'm going off alcohol!!! From what I'm thinking that's about 10 syns?

Rest of day was veggie home cooked breakfast - mushrooms, beans, tomato, onion, 1 wholemeal toast (HEB)

Lunch - jacket potato, beans, salad and fruit salad as snack mid pm.

Even if I've under estimated syns won't be over 15 so should be ok!

Hi consultant, the reason that I ask is that I found a low fat french dressing in Tesco and I'm trying to work out the syns. On the syn list it says Fat free viniagrette is free or any one with less than 40kcals per 100ml was also free. The Hellmans fat free viniagrette had 49kcals per 100ml, the tesco one had 48kcals/100mls, the hellmans had 10.something saturated fat per 100mls whereas the tesco one had between 4 and 5 per 100mls, and the other one possible sugars was also a lot higher on the hellmans one.

So I am wondering if the tesco low fat french dressing would have syns or wether it would be free, also wondering how the hellmans one can be free with all that in it?

    Any help gratefully recieved :o

    Well done Alison!:T

I was looking at some of the Slimming World syn values for Pizza Express and most of their pizza's seem to come in at around 20 syns for half a pizza; but knowing how high pizza usually is in syns wondered why Pizza Express is low in comparison to most places that do pizza??
