2 Syns on Extra Easy Original 2 Syns Green 2 Syns

Don't take this the wrong way but if you want to stick to your list above I'd say that SW is not for you - the only things left in your diet would be beans/pulses, fruit and veg (and fish, you mention meat but is fish out too). I really think you'd struggle to stick to it.

Also people who eat plenty of calcium tend to lose more weight. Calcium binds to some of the fat in your diet - hence the fat is not absorbed at all. If you don't intend to eat diary them make sure you get calcium from somewhere else (and lack of calcium can lead to osteoporosis)

    Hi there

Thanks for the carrot juice syns.

The thing about the above list as I said in the post is I will include probably most of them but in moderation, and not regularly. I have experimented over the last few months and found that I'm actually intollerant of wheat and dairy - but i can handle them both occasionally within reason. I'm well aware of the need for calcium, and the slimming benefits, thats why I said I'll use rice milk and watch my calcium intake.

I do naturally eat a lot of pulses and veggies, and very little meat, so its not a hardship as far as Im concerned as I love to eat like that. I know it doesn't fit 100% with slimming world, but I'm at a loss to know what else to do - there doesn't seem to be a scheme that would fit 100% for the above, and I know SW works. Tried it on my own but am still putting weight on :(

Thanks to all who suggested soups - given me an excuse to buy the thermos I saw in lidl :D

My eating has been okay ish today. Not really decieded if i'm on EE or green yet:

    brekkie: apple, banana

mid morning: small cappucino (A) and a mini millionaires shortbread - syns unknown! 3-4?

lunch: carrot and cue sticks with mini 60g pot of hummus - must look up syns but I think it will be okay to count as 2 x B.
went food shopping at lunch to top up the carrot sticks with something more substantial and then forgot to eat anything else, so must have been more filling than I thought! :o

...still, maybe not, as I managed this little lot at 4.30pm:
apple, banana, mini sushi pack (1) mini pick n mix salad from Sainsburys (guestimate 3 syns for any vinegarette dressings in there) and 2 mini corn on cob with sunflower spread (4 syns)

I am working 6-10 tonight, so dinner will be another mini salad (3) topped up with free lettuce, tomato, cue etc, some melon, more apples and nanas if I fancy them, and if after all that I'm still hungry I'll have a JP and beans later on.

Will cook butternut squash soup tonight ready for freezer etc.

Total syns currently looking like 12, and an A and two Bs - so a green day.

Skintslimmer - it looks to me like you should be looking for vegan recipes....as they obviously omit meat and dairy. Maybe your best bet would be a trip to the library or just google, find as many different recipes as you can and then 'Slimming world them' i.e. cut down on or syn any oils etc that are used in the recipe.
Might also be worthwile researching into the pro's and con's of the items you wish to omit from your diet and see if they 'really' need to be cut out?!

    xx

Why didn't I think of that - duuuuh! :o Thank you.

As mentioned above, its not a quick whim that I want to cut right back on those things - I'm actually intollerant to half of them, and the other half of them I have reasearched fully and feel that they aren't doing your body any favours if you use them long term, so I'm quite sure I want to stick to that. :)

I just had a really yummy snack - was after ryvita with jam and cheese again but have already had my HEA and 3 syns for milk, so instead i had ryvita with jam and lf fromage frais on top! Delish and saved on cheese syns! (i thik it was 5 syns in total without the cheese)

    PPI Party Pooper
    Had a good green day.

Breakfast Coffee(A), 21g All bran (B), FF Activia peach (0.5)
Snack FF activia vanilla, banana, carrot sticks, another banana, more carrot sticks! I had a really late lunch:o
Lunch HM lentil soup, WM roll(B), ham (1), pickle (0.5), 12g cheese (A), alpen light(B)

had a nap and woke up with such a craving for chocolate:eek: Had a diet coke instead and felt much better

Dinner Quorn bolognaise (2), pasta, 23g cheese (part A and 1.5 syns)

First time i've used quorn mince and it was lovely. Synned the tsp olive oil and splash of red wine in sauce, probably overestimated it to be honest as i had about an 1/8th of the sauce but want to be safe.
Have used both A+B and 5.5 syns, will have a kitkat or something later.

I have read through some of your posts, think im going to join you soon. i work at a gp surgery and one of the kind nurses has let me have 12 weeks of slimming world vouchers :) . They will give 12 weeks to anyone with a BMI over 30, mine was just below, but she wangled the numbers slightly. ANyhow its about time i finally shifted this spare tyre i carry around with me, and more importantly started eating better as i am sure it is the root to a lot of my fatigue problems !!!!!! Lots of gp surgerys will give you slimming world vouchers, for those of you who don't go because you can't afford it, its worth asking. And if i lose 5 % of my body weight she will give me 12 more. As i am only 4 foot 10, and weigh 61 kg, this only makes about 6 or 7lbs, so i SHOULD be able to do that in 12 weeks :)

i had no idea you could get vouchers from your gp
  • Hello all, my World of Flavours book arrived today (had to amend that from World of Favours, a different thing altogether :D ) and it looks as if it has some good recipes in. I haven't checked out the Jamie book, I'll give it as a Xmas present (I'm not keen on the chap, I know I'm the only one!)

I realised today has been a green today so far, so I added some cheese to my supper and will have an extra B as well later :D.

Even though I've been static to within a pound or two since reaching target, this week lots of people have commented how good I am looking and they don't mean my face. I think it's because I've bitten the bullet and bought a couple more pairs of trousers that actually fit instead of being belted in ... now I have to stay at this weight for a few months to get my wear from them, they weren't cheap. It's a fab feeling going down a size or two though eh? :T

My old work colleague has moved so I no longer have anyone to remind me to Drink More Water, I have to keep reminding myself and it's not as much fun as drinking it with someone else, if you see what I mean.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
