A few years back I managed to lose just under 2 stone with slimming world but have since put most of that weight back on. Truely depressing!
At the present time I am a full time nursing student. so after being on the wards for 37 and a half hour weeks at a hospital which is an hours drive away each way, I also have to keep up to date with my essays and when not on placements, attend lectures.
So being able to attend the group sessions is un likely and the cost of joining the online thing is outside of the relms of student funds.
Would people be able to help me with say....weekly passwords or the answer to any syn questions I may have? Also, how does this extra easy thing work as I have never been able to get my head around that one lol.
Thank you B:A
Hi and welcome to the thread. It's always been against the rules to give out the password but now it's not possible as the system has changed.
You will always find someone willing to help with syn values and to dish out help and support when you need it - and a swift kick if you need one too
PS: If you go back to post number 1 you will find the rules for EEI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Well you lot certainly thought me not fancy my date 'enough' was hilarious didn't you?! :rotfl: I just meant that there was no spark!
(((hugs))) to those in need.
I did my WI this morning and apparently have lost 0.5lbs this week! I'm a bit dubious cos I was off plan a fair few times last weekbut hey, the scales don't lie :rotfl:.
Good day food wise, didn't have much time to eat in work! And I went to gym after work too.
Green day:
B - shreddies (HEB) and skimmed milk (HEA)
L - pasta with salady bits
D - 2 x small jacket spuds - one with HM SF veggie chilli, cheese (HEA) and sour cream (3syns), other with cheese (HEB) and LF coleslaw (5syns)
Snacks - banana
Drinks - coffee, water, NAS squash
Exercise - 45 mins at gym
Total syns = 8
Still have few syns left so may have something sweet later, or just a ff yogurt.

Hi managed to get to Waitrose so have some pudding rice now:j had to ask for it and the assistant said it was short grained rice - silly me had been looking for a pack of pudding rice!
Also got a pack of that slenda sweetner - pleased to find it is not aspartame/saccharin in it.
So rice pud is in the oven.
Food today - Green day as ever!
B - porridge/rice milk and berries
Mid morning - beans/toms on 1 wholemeal bread
Lunch - small portion of leftover curry/rice
Mid pm - grapes and berries
Tea - pasta with homemade tomato pasta sauce and a side salad with fat free dressing.
Made the rice pud with the weekends milk allowance as I had a cooked breakfast both days. Might have a bowl of that later with berries on, when cooked, was thinking it would be a good breakfast too!
Did a health and safety pack at Costas today before a student placement and they told me their hot choc is vegan when made with soya milk - temptation or what!!! They said it was 120 cals but no idea how to work out syns so did not have one.
Think rice pudding will be very useful as Im planning on making some to beat choc cravings I know Il get later this week!Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

I can't imagine it will matter if you used fresh tomatoes not tinned or 2 green peppers and no yellow one. I think I may try to make a smaller volume with the veg I have at home!
You can use pretty much what you want - the idea was for it to be lots of free foods (green/EE day) and fibrous things to get you moving
It makes A LOT so be sure to use a mahoosive pan!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

I hope you enjoyed the rice pud, but it's not a good idea to save HEs from one day to the next. It's a case of using them on the day to make sure you get the right amount of calcium etc needed for a healthy dietI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Sian_the_Green wrote: »Very true. I just feel like I am paying my £5 a week and not really seeing anything happening. I know it is my fault, there is nothing wrong with the plan but I do not feel I can go to my brother's wedding and refuse to eat the pudding
Anyone else had a similar experience and managed to break the cycle?
OK I'm going to play devil's advocate here and ask how many weddings your brother had........just the one was it? Well what stopped you following the plan on the other weeks?
Sorry, but as you have already worked out for yourself (above in red) but we all need to decide which we want to do - lose weight or have lots of off-diet meals.
It is perfectly possible to have a social life and still lose weight, honestly it is. I have had more than one member who has returned to group after the Christmas holidays and lost weight. Not surprisingly, it's usually the ones who attended the group between Christmas and New Year who do best (see, there's a pattern).
If it's not the right time for you, you don't feel committed enough, there's no shame in saying "right I'm going to pack in until I feel I can give it my all".
I hope this hasn't come across as too harsh, but sometimes I think 'tough love' is called for if you are self-sabotaging like this.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
oh i see they have updated the sw website with a xmas article on the homepage.
apparently they will be doing mince pie hi fi bars and we will be having xmas parties in group next week!?!??!
also i was thinking of buying a countdown this week but will wait for the week after as then you get a xmas recipie book for free.
talking of countdowns how much are they and how do you pay for them? can they take card payments or do i need to get load of cash out?
having a good day so far but am really cold and want my lunch already!
ee-
b - mullerlight, fibre plus(heb), grapes
snacks - apple
l - jacket - prob with tuna and a small blob of salad cream(?)
d -beef stirfry
Countdowns are paid for in cash (don't know of any groups with a card-reading machine) and will cost so many times the group fee. If you're going for a 6 week one, there's one week free so you pay 5 times the weekly fee. With the 12 week one there are 2 free weeks so you pay 10 times the group fee.
I do think they are very good for your commitment - once you've paid your money, the chances are you will make sure you don't miss group. They are not suitable for a shift worker though as there's no provision for missed weeks (if you miss, you lose that week).I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
