  • I am going to trawl through the Gillian McKeith book, I think it might have some good ideas for superfree meals. I found her very irritating towards the end of her series, but there might be some useful ideas.

  • Thanks for all the comments regarding underactive thyroids. My aim is 1lb a week, I know that that is the "scenic route" but I'm in no hurry, all my weight didn't go on overnight! Any more than that would be a bonus.

1 to 2 1lb a week is the recommended healthy loss, and if it comes off nice and steady.....its more likely to stay off ! ;) X

Stick around on here too....Its full of great peeps who will help when you're stuck......or give you a kick up the bum if you ask for one lol :rotfl:

Working with kids is germ city, had sore throat last weekend and got another one this weekend

WI this morning and gained 1lb :o not at all surprised, takeaways eventually catch up don't they? Still below target [just] so not worring too much :p but WILL do better this week or else!!!!

Mr T's has pudding rice above the freezers with the jellies and angel delight in my local shop.

I have made another variation on the cous cous frittas, this week I have added pork mince so its a pork & cous cous loaf with onions, chives, chilli flakes, tom puree, garlic puree [syns but only a couple] bound together with couple eggs.
I'm not sure how to do this, I might have some and go ee or if im doing green the pork could be HEb couldn't it? Depends what else is on the menu that day. Or I'd have to syn it, can anyone tell me the syn value please?

Roast chicken today with loads of superfree veg & a yorkie yummmm
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

  • Well done Skint Catt!

Date went well, but not sure I like him enough! We stopped for coffee so it was SW friendly. I was starved on my way back, luckily I had a banana in the car. Just had quick lunch of pasta and HM SF tomato sauce.

    Hello, newbie over here!!

I joined SW 3 weeks ago, probably at the wrong time because I had all sorts of things going on! But, I have managed to lose 1.5lbs so at least its a loss. Hopefully now everything has settled I can get my head around it, I have never done anything like this before and considering I have a severe chocolate addiction (which is going to stop!) my body will go into shock!

I have read a few pages in this thread but it moves so fast I would be here for days trying to catch up!

Has anybody else struggled to get into the whole routine, i've been so used to treating my body like a bin (hence the need to lose about 6 stone!). Also anybody with underactive thyroids on here? How hard have you found it to lose weight.

    Sorry for the questions!

I can recommend Options hot chocolate (2 syns-ish a sachet) as a 'quick fix' for a chocoholic. I sometimes have 2 in a big mug - it lasts a while and takes the edge off the urge to stuff chocolate.

As long as your medication has stabilised your condition, an underactive thyroid should make no difference to you being able to lose weight with Food Optimising :)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Had another big breakfast today, then syn free tomato soup for lunch and a tub of M&S Orzo pasta salad (1.5 syns)

Had fruit salad and 1/2 pot fruity soya yoghurt (1 syn)

Tonight Im cooking a vege and chick pea curry for me and Mum which Il serve with rice. Making a massive pot of it so I can freeze some.

Also cooking a fresh tomato pasta sauce ready for tomorrow as tomatoes were a good deal at the farm shop.

Still yearning for rice pud but can't get pud rice until sometime in the week - I hope. Might try our Spar tomorrow as you never know they might have some or the mamager at One Stop is good for ordering things in for me.

Saw quinoa flakes in the health store yesterday - might be better than the grain for porridge but did not get any.
