WI tonight and I lost a measly 1/2 lb and that was the 1/2 I put on last week! Am finding it very frustrating trying to keep inside the target range. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE?
The official way to maintain is to add extra HEBs (one at a time) until you find your balance point.
Some people find that eating to plan all week when it's easiest due to other commitments and having more or less whatever you want at the weekends works for them.
It's a process of elimination to find what works for you.
I've always said it's easier to get it off than to keep it off but if you're putting ½lb on one week and losing it the next you seem to be doing fine. Your weight will never be static, it depends on so many other factors which is why you're given a 6lb window in your target range.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Can anyone tell me how many syns something like angel delight is please? Or can anyone remember how to make a mousse from a muller light? I think it was whip it with egg whites but I can't quite remember a) if it was and b) how many per yoghurt!
Thanks0 -
Hello,
Internet been playing silly bu**ers last 2 days... HAd WI on Weds eve, despite being saintly (yes, I evenm p[olished my halo) I only lost 1. How pants is that..... I knw that 1 a week is 52 a year and that is almost 3 stone but still. I feel it should have been more. :-(
So, I started again, fresh eyes and moved on. Here's to next week!!Children are born with wings .... Teachers help them to flyOne day your life is going to flash in front of your eyes.... Make sure it's worth watching!!!!!0 -
Evening everyone, well done to all the losers
I am officially shattered tonight. Did an early shift at work, came home and got changed then went out for my week 2, run 2 of c25k. My knees still hurt a little bit, but I still completed it and it came in as 4k of walk/jogging so that can't be bad
EE day today
B - 2x alpen lite
L - cheese hea and bacon omelette
D - jacket potato, baked beans, bacon
snacks - grapes
I know I've had almost zero superfree today, so I have a HUGE fruit salad next to me with banana, nectarine, apple, grape and pear with a touch of FF vanilla onken. It honestly looks to big to eat and I feel like I'll be forcing it down, but I do need some superfree!
For the 3rd night in a week I didn't have my twix and quavers last night, it's getting much, much easier to resist syns! Very happy about that. I did have 2x kallo rice cakes with a scraping of nutella on tho, so I'll overestimate that as 6 syns
Still need a bit extra hea, as only had a tiny bit of cheese so will have a babybel later. Will possibly have my twix and quavers, but who knows!
Feeling positive today
Oh, saw someone asking about go ahead (sorry, not sure who). The yogurt ones that come in twin packs are 6 per twin pack, and the crispy slices, with 3 slices in each separate portion, are 3 syns per slice, so 9 syns per portion! Ouch!I have spread my dreams under your feet;

Syns
I will use my syns mainly in the evenings with last cuppa for 2 x Funsize Bars and to cover any hidden syns when cooking (but I am using Frylight, VFF From Frais, Quark and I don't really like cheese, I don't add salt anyway, I swapped sugar on Weetabix for sweetner) plus the odd weekends I do go out syns will be used on those days for drinking.
Sorry for another long post but would appreciate thoughts on above, how I can aid weight loss without breaking the bank - ideally I don't want to spend more than £200 on food a month - I shop at Tescos or Asdas but get fruit from Lidls and frozen from Farm Foods - any hints, tips, advice, telling offs welcome...finised now I promise :T

I wish there was a syn/fat free soya yoghurt out there! It's 2 syns for a small pot of fruity soya yoghurt:(
I have not thought of any fat free/syn free vegan puds as everything seems to have milk or gelatine in it.
Even vegan jelly has sugar in and I wont use artificial sweetners.
So only puds Im eating are fruit and soya yoghurt - need to see if I can think of a nice warming vegan pud that is only about 2 syns.
Anyone know if rice pudding homemade is really bad? I have ground rice in the cupboard and if I have a cooked breakfast at the weekend one day I would have my milk allowance as I dont drink tea/coffee. Wonder how many syns a portion of rice pud with soya milk and fresh berries would be?Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

Superspeed foods are those that help you stay full for longer because they have a lot of fibre or those that have fewer calories than similar items (for instance oysters are superspeed but prawns aren't because prawns contain a lot of cholesterol).
It is confusing but if you follow the lists in you FO book you'll soon get used to it
Hello:) Can I just query what you said about prawns please Consultant? Prawns contain dietary cholesterol but they are low in fat, high in protein and lower in calories than chicken I believe.
The thinking used to be that prawns (like eggs) were to be limited or avoided but that's not so any more as far as I know.
If you have high cholesterol it is much more beneficial to avoid saturated fats than prawns.
Prawns are yummy and good for you!!:j:j
P.S. Thanks for all your invaluable help on here.0 -
Consultant, I think Light choices is now the new name for Healthy living, I have to say I havent seen much "healthy living" branded stuff i there recently, although my local tesco is quite small.
Ah, thanks Lynz, I did wonder if that was the case - thought they wouldn't have two different low-cal versions.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

The nutritionists at SW put syn values on all sorts of things that you or I may think strange. Often it is because they contain too much salt or other 'nasty'.
I was not aware that prawns are now de-restricted (for want of a better word, lol) but my friend who has very high cholesterol has been told not to eat them, so I just assumed that was the reason they were only an S and not an SS food.......it has been known for me to spout a load of rubbish you know, so feel free to ignore me :rotfl:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
