  • Day 3 on SW and another daft question :o

I am looking at HEB's on EE online and found:-

    2 Ryvita Original/Dark Rye/Sesame
    4 Ryvita Original/Dark Rye/Sesame

So double the quantity is the same HEB value???

I know it's no big deal and probably something to do with twice the fibre just goes through you more quickly :D but does anyone know the proper reason?

BTW the reason I am asking is because I am a greedy whatsit and would rather have 4 of something if I can :rotfl:

    Many thanks!

If you want to lose weight at a faster rate you could have 2 and still get enough fibre for your HEB portion. However, if you're hungry and content to lose weight a little slower (which is no bad thing as it gives you more time to learn new, healthier habits) then you can have 4 because the calorie content is still low and you get extra fibre.

hi - just popping with a quick question please - i'm doing my tescos shop, is tesco light choices natural normandy fromage frais free???

oh AND is Kelloggs special K a HEB???? thanks :D

Special K hasn't got enough fibre to be counted as a HEB, sorry :(

Can't help on the Tesco 'light choices' fromage frais, but the 'healthy living' plain one is free. Perhaps you could check the content lists against each other.

Consultant, I think Light choices is now the new name for Healthy living, I have to say I havent seen much "healthy living" branded stuff i there recently, although my local tesco is quite small.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I am really struggling today.... I have managed to have a few cubes of chocolate fall into my mouth already:( I am having a visit from AF every 2wks and it is driving me mad now, I feel like I am fighting a losing battle with trying to lose weight because of it:(

I will try and fill myself up with dinner and avoid temptation but I feel really low, bloated and extremely tired atm.

The visits from AF will not stop you losing weight, it just tends to make you feel bloated. Try having extra water every day, the more you drink, the better it passes through.

However, might it not be a good idea to see your GP as bleeding every couple of weeks is bound to make you feel weak and tired.

Hope you feel better soon :)

  • Hi

Am going to attempt making the DynoRod soup this weekend for the first time, have now finally found all the ingredients I need. Had quite an :o amusing conversation at the checkout after discussing what I was going to cook, the look on the assistants face when I said DynoRod soup was priceless! Of course it didnt help with the tinned prunes I also had :rotfl:

Can anyone tell me please if I need to pre-cook the Lentils first before using them in the recipie or do I just chuck them in ?

    Thanks :D

  • Can anyone help please? I had a sneeky peek at the scales first thing and it shows I have put on 2 1/4 pound this week :(, yet I have been exercising a little each day and not eating anything different since my first week  Salads, fruit, veg and lots of low fat, low calorie stuff. It really hasnt helped with my motivation as I am having to stay focussed and not cave into cravings!

    Thanks :)

Hi guys I have subscribed to this thread but dont feel brave enough to post my meal plans yet. I am 5 stone overweight yet do not eat loads. Im not in denial either my mum and boyfriend cant understand why I am so overweight. Im not the most active person I must admit. But, wanted to ask would the body store fat if I didnt consume enough calories?

Any advice would be greatfully received

    Jojo

Jojo, if you don't eat very much but are significantly overweight, the chances are that the things you do eat are the wrong ones with lots of hidden fats or sugars.

Your body will go into starvation mode if you don't eat enough - it will hang on to every last calorie. Eventually it will start to break down lean muscle tissue in order to function properly and this will mess up your metabolism making it harder to lose weight at all.

Food Optimising promotes healthy eating. You will find that there are lots of foods which can be eaten freely and these are foods with a lot of fibre (which helps you feel full for longer) or foods with a lot of bulkiness but very few calories (strawberries, melon etc).

You are encouraged to eat lots of fruit and veg with a portion of milk or cheese (for calcium) and a portion of a fibre-filled food (wholemeal bread, porridge etc).

I can guarantee that if you follow the plan as it is set out, you will lose weight - no ifs or buts. In fact if you join a group, follow a plan and don't lose weight in the first month, you will get all your money back - how can you possibly beat that :D

Chuck out the scales! You should only get weighed once a week on the same scales, same time of day and roughly the same clothes. Anything else and you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Your body weight can change from hour to hour naturally with fluid fluctuations, so ignore those scales till weigh-day :)
