The beef dhansak sounds a good idea, can you put the recipe up please x

I dont have a proper recipe but I got the idea from an old minimins post: http://www.minimins.com/sw-winter-warmer-recipes/78514-review-beef-dhansak-recipe-currently-featured-website.html
It's from 2009! I am basically going to adapt it to what i have in the fridge - veg and beef in a load of spices with some lentils and have it with rice.

Ok. I'll use 2 tbsps in the bhaji recipe so it's 7 syns all together then divide it by how much of them i eat! (probably half, as i'm only makeing a small batch as a test) thanks :)

  • Hi guys I have subscribed to this thread but dont feel brave enough to post my meal plans yet. I am 5 stone overweight yet do not eat loads. Im not in denial either my mum and boyfriend cant understand why I am so overweight. Im not the most active person I must admit. But, wanted to ask would the body store fat if I didnt consume enough calories?

Any advice would be greatfully received

Not much to report today, feel a bit dull and boring so not sure what to do today. I have lessons later 4pm-6pm and the lessons are planned so nothing I NEED to do. Might see if there are any bargain Christmas presents I can buy as we plan to cut right back this year.

Hi Trixie, I was in Dunelm yesterday and started on the (bloody waste of time and money but hey ho) Xmas present buying - they have lovely white guest towels with a christmas motif at £1.99 each, and some glass jars with scented candles in at (I think) 99p. Dunno if that helps?

I HATE spending money for the sake of it and I HATE others spending it on me - every year I try to ban Xmas gift exchanges except for the 2 or 3 really important people and the children, but every year it drags on .

I have given up at work though, I don't buy cards or gifts for workmates :D.

    thank you Slimming World!

However this aft i'm going over to my mums and she has asked me to go in to ASDA and get some curries for tea!!
What should I go for , dont mind if its meat chicken or veggi but are any of them free or low syns please. I dont usually shop at asda u see as there isn't one near me.

I can find my old shopping directory (ands it really old) so will have to order a new one in class next week.

I tried syns on line but nothing came up.

    thanks for any suggestions.

  • Red mel, thanks for all that info! one tablespoon of olive oil is HEB on red days. I am twice your age, no kids, never post my meal plans on here (because I don't plan 'em), and love the support of all you "pretend" people in my computer! I do go to class, and I enjoy that too. You can go to the slimming world website without being a paying member of slimming world and get an idea of sample menus.

Jojo, you don't HAVE to post your meals on here! Lately lots of people do, but in the past (on old threads) if I remember rightly it was quite rare. I don't know the answer to your question but certainly Slimming World advocates never feeling hungry. There is so much food that is free to eat (ok it's mostly fruit and vegetables, also eggs, and if you are following Extra Easy it's also meat, fish, shellfish etc). Friends at my class last night said they had noticed they can't eat as much as they used to, probably because what they are eating is full of goodness and vitamins and fibre etc, not just sugar and flour! Hope this helps.

    • pasta
    • peas
    • sweetcorn
    • sauce made from:-

If you dont eat enough food on a regular basis your body can store what you do eat as it is never sure when you're going to feed it again. Its called something like 'famine mode'

Ive got an underactive thyroid, so the best way for me to lose weight (or to not put any on even) is to eat something every couple of hours to keep my metabolism up....even if its only a bit of fruit or a yog. ;)

I gained a pound and a half last night :( been generally feeling rubbish due to a horrible chest infection and lots of work stress so it looks like i've eaten rubbish to match it.

Oh well, if i can drop 2lb this week that will be 1 stone 7lb off so that's my target.
