Thank you. I'm more bothered about whether they change things than whether they apologise to me or not so I've deliberately not specifically requested one so as to keep the focus on changing things for the future. I was taking it as a given that they would reply but I'll add, "I look forward to hearing from you." at the end just to make sure. I think initially I should just send the letter to the hospital as I think it's only fair to give them a chance before involving others.

I agree - a reponse should be a given, but I know that it no longer is :( I would hate for them to think they can read and forget about it.

    Good luck!

Susan - the only thing I would say is that it's perhaps quite long? Meaning that whoever receives it may just skim it rather than give it the attention it deserves.

Susan - I think it is a well thought out and humbling letter. I only worry that it will not receive the attention it deserves. I hope you feel okay after writing it.

Edit - spooky Gill - we used the same words - great minds!
As you were all very helpful with present ideas for Joe. Have lots on my list now, and a few already bought. Can any one give ideas for a 9 year old girl? As in 9 going on 19, who is allowed to dress in a way that no daughter of mine ever would. It is truly  sometimes. She is also way spoiled and has everything. Last year was easy, as she was getting a charm bracelet, so charms were bought for that.

I'm finding it so much easier to shop for the babies in my life, over fives are so much harder arrggghhhh....

  • Hi due March. I don't have any helpful suggestions (only on number 1 here!), but I'm sure someone else will be along soon.

Susan I read the letter, but don't have anything to add. I'm sorry you were treated so poorly, and well done for communicating this with the hospital. I'm sure most people wouldn't want to/feel able to, but hopefuly you will be able to prompt some positive changes :)

I did wonder about the "longness" of it but I can't see any way of cutting it down. I'm hoping that having the numbered headings for improvements will help if they are skim reading.

Thanks - I'll pursue it if they ignore it. The photo bit did make me cry but I'm okay.

One reason why I feel it's so important for me to complain is because I feel able to and I know a lot of people probably don't feel able to and if nobody ever does, how will things ever improve?

  • I wish I was organised enough to get tea on now. Well technically I could have today, seeing as I'm not at work, and don't have a toddler under my feet either, but we always end up cooking once she is in bed. On work days this is hte only option, seeing as once she gets home she wants attention, not to be told to wait while I cook, but on Thursdays and Fridays I could do it if I set my mind to it. Not that we would eat before she went to bed, but at least we would be eating at 7:30 or so, rather than starting to cook then. I think I have just set myself a challenge.
