susan - I've read the letter.
I think that you have very successful kept emotion out of the letter to get your points across. My only thought was whether you were looking for a reply or not? If you would like an apology for the way you wre treated I would state that at the begining and end. If its a reply you want, Again I would state this.
Other than that - I really hope that your concerens will bring about change. Would you consider sending copies to other places, such as your local MP or your NHS trust rather than just hte hospital (I know that might not be what you want - I'm only suggesting).

Susan, my brain's not really in the right place for an in-depth analysis, but overall it looks well-presented & logical. Do you wish for them to respond? - if so, you should put that you expect a response or similar.

Thank you. I'm more bothered about whether they change things than whether they apologise to me or not so I've deliberately not specifically requested one so as to keep the focus on changing things for the future. I was taking it as a given that they would reply but I'll add, "I look forward to hearing from you." at the end just to make sure. I think initially I should just send the letter to the hospital as I think it's only fair to give them a chance before involving others.
I agree - a reponse should be a given, but I know that it no longer isI would hate for them to think they can read and forget about it.
Good luck!r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Susan - the only thing I would say is that it's perhaps quite long? Meaning that whoever receives it may just skim it rather than give it the attention it deserves.Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0

Susan - I think it is a well thought out and humbling letter. I only worry that it will not receive the attention it deserves. I hope you feel okay after writing it.
Edit - spooky Gill - we used the same words - great minds!workinmummy wrote: »As you were all very helpful with present ideas for Joe. Have lots on my list now, and a few already bought. Can any one give ideas for a 9 year old girl? As in 9 going on 19, who is allowed to dress in a way that no daughter of mine ever would. It is truly  sometimes. She is also way spoiled and has everything. Last year was easy, as she was getting a charm bracelet, so charms were bought for that.
I'm finding it so much easier to shop for the babies in my life, over fives are so much harder arrggghhhh....

Hi due March. I don't have any helpful suggestions (only on number 1 here!), but I'm sure someone else will be along soon.
Susan I read the letter, but don't have anything to add. I'm sorry you were treated so poorly, and well done for communicating this with the hospital. I'm sure most people wouldn't want to/feel able to, but hopefuly you will be able to prompt some positive changesIsabella Molly born 14th January 2009
