I feel much better about the situation with H, the room manager spoke to me today and said they have kept them apart where possible and are 'working on the situation' while I was there they both needed the toilet and H was messing about but going a little too far,(and was told to stop etc) I think its mostly a case of him not knowing his strength/where to stop, a bit like when Chris first started to play with Edgar, I wonder if H is an only child so is new to this or maybe his parents let him do it at home :s.Thursdays are a good day too because H goes swimming in the morning so less time for anything to happen .
Glad you're feeling better about it.

Alice is currently an only child but she knows perfectly well that she shouldn't hurt other children. Being an only child could be a valid reason for not being aware of having to be particularly gentle with babies but I don't think it's a valid reason for not knowing you shouldn't bash people generally.

MFD, I'm really sorry you went through the wringer on it but I think it's a winner. I can't see it being a show-stopper for BB if they do decide they want you, so it's almost ish the best of both worlds. Ish. Sort of. Think positive!

That sounds exactly like my OH

CAFC ive posted some things for L today

Thanks Susan, I am going to have to talk to him when he gets in

Weezle - I didnt have a overwhelming rush of love either, in fact it took me about 4 weeks to even bond with him at all :(

Awww you're super :rotfl: E is L's bestest friend in the whole widey world and neither of them know it ;)

So glad you said that. Half the people who ask about L end up saying he should have a sibling so that he knows how to get on with other kids before he starts school  Not gonna happen (the sibling part - not the getting on with)

Sami - Even if it is just these two incidents I would still expect the parents to be told. I got told when Izzy bit someone at nursery. They've not mentioned it since, so I would hope that is because she hasn't done it again, rather than they've not told me. She hasn't bitten me either since then, so I think that phase has passed - the new one is pushing everyone around. I keep telling her "no" in my best stern mummy voice, but she still does it.

    It's only a phase, it's only a phase, it's only a phase......

    Yes - It's only a phase :D

I feel that way about just about everyone who didn't end up traumatised by their experience of birth :(

But I envy your Christmas cakes. I'm considering making a couple of small ones but my mincemeat won't arrive till tomorrow with my Very Best Friend :j:j:j:j:j

:( don't worry I've felt a bit like this too. what usually sets me of is those 'first photos'. I'm jealous because I don't have any.

Weezle - it took me few days to feel that bond, and it really didn't come until we came out of hospital (about 5 days).
Bruno - if you are about, here is my update as promised.

They kind of accepted my proposal. I have committed to a 6 month contract with a 3 month break clause (so actually only a 3 month commitment) but they practically broke me in the process. A combination of pressure to make me take the full 12 months and a comment that I should be grateful of the opportunity :(

hugs - but I'm sure it'll all work out sweetie x If Bruno thinks your onto a winner.................;)

Sami - hugs to bitten chris. Glad nursery are taking it seriously.

Today we saw The POPE! The cardinal lives quite close by and he had a lunch there and as he was leaving to go to Glasgow drove up Morningside road, where we were walking ;) I'd deliberated over going (I'm not catholic), but decided that all the pomp and circumstance were enough to keep Annabel entertained for a wee while. She loved seeing the helicopters, policemen lining the streets and the police motorcycle outriders were just amazing to see. He wasn't in the popemobile, just a normal car, but we got a good look. Plus it was onyl a few minutes walk from the house!

However, when we got home LO 'found' a green crayon somewhere and drew all over the TV unit - thankfully I interupted her before she started on the wall :eek::eek::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

now this would have sent me over the edge at the begining of the week, but I stayed calm ;)

Sami I've been to Tescos - there is a noticable gap on the leapfrog shelf :( and a OOS sticker over the price label bit.

On a brighter note, I might have bought a couple of cute little girl t-shirts and a birthday present for my friends little boy. :D
ahh well, hopefully someone else will do as good an offer *crosses fingers* Thank you for checking for me :kisses3:

sorry didn't mean to offend any only childy families, I just meant that if We hadn't had Edgar, Chris may have only now been learning these limits so I can understand that other children aren't there yet (and that others are too)

    thank you for saying that!

nope, not with either of them. Another mum at baby group told me that the absence of it with number 2 was what told her she had PND, compared to the 'immensely overwhelming rush of love' with number one.

I didn't get it either. DH sat staring at him for hour straight after he was born...I went for a shower, washed my hair and put some makeup on lol I reckon it took me 4 weeks to overwhelmingly love him the way i do now.

My first thought was "he looks big!"

Well Rmac it could be worse, I had to sit and scrub the walls earlier as I noticed marks all over it and turns out Keira has been wiping her bogeys on the wall instead of getting a tissue and putting it in the bog! EUGH

Anyone reccomend a good deodarant :D
  • Also when do you up the amount of food?

E started on 3 meals a day on monday, so for breakfast, lunch and tea he has half a jar, he still has 4 8-9oz bottles a day and one in the night.

When should he be dropping bottles and which should he drop?

He has bottles at, 6.30am, 10.30am, 2.30pm, 6.30pm then midnight
He has food at 8.30am, 12.30pm and 4.30pm

Henry is ten months, eats three meals a day, plus snacks and still has four milk feeds a day.

Also on the development thing, as Susan said, I have found with a few things that one day he can't do them, then the next day he can. It doesn't seem to be a gradual thing at all.

Nursery visit was okay - it seems good enough (but not spectacular IYSWIM), but the woman showing me around wasn't exactly overly forthcoming with info. Prolly not helped by me not knowing what to ask! I'm still biased towards CMs so that's probably why I was a little reluctant to be enthusiastic with question-asking.

I actually have no clue what to do about milk. Finn will take water from a cup, but I have no idea if he would do milk and in any sort of meaningful quantities. He eats quite a bit of food so I'm wondering if I weren't there to provide it, if he would actually be fine going all day with no feeds? Does anyone else have any experience/advice here?? It's a rather sharp transition and I'm wondering if it's too much to ask - currently he feeds at 10am & 2pm still but he has gone without one of those in the past and been fine (so a lot of it is habit).

As others have said I am sure Finn will be fine whatever you decide. Henry will happily drink milk from a cup to replace daytime feeds if I am at work, but he also often forgets about them if he is out and about. Also he can generally be distracted by a drink of water and a biscuit so he can't really need the milk :rotfl:.
