JM, I had a similar problem with Aimee at the begining of last term. She told me they weren't allowed to go to the toilet during class time, only during break and "lab time" The trouble with Aimee though, she'll hold and hold and hold until she absolutely HAS to go and it's the cause of her frequent urine unfections... If she can't get to the loo when she needs to she has a small accident to relieve the pressure and holds for a bit longer... Which does not help the infection situation...
I spoke to her teacher in the end and asked that she be allowed to go to the toilet when she needed as she wasn't old enough to be responsible for holding until appropriate times... The rules were kind of relaxed for all the children after that...
I'm a bit miffed anyway, the school sent home slips on Friday offering some after school clubs and I put Aimee's name down for art club on a Thursday and handed the slip in on Monday... My friend asked about it today because she's put her daughter's name down too and apparently if they didn't bring home a slip of paper saying they had a place then they don't get to stay... How much quicker could I have been getting her slip of paper back in?!
I'll be even more miffed if I walk down there at 3:20 and she's got a place and I have to come home and go back again though...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Good Luck lovely AF
my friend has an s-max, she have a c-max previously, had no probs with it and she like it (then again I know a load of people with ur current car who've had no problems)
I'm wary of fords because mum used to have a ford escort that was possessedwe were on the motorway in winter it was dark and raining and the lights n wipers just stopped working other times random electrical things would just come on/go off no one could find a problem with it so she swapped it for an astra sharppish
Forgot to mention that Chris was playing fine with H when I went to collect him yesterday - this confuses me considering what he's like when I drop him off, maybe he is just using it as an excuse sort of thing because he can't express what he's feeling in the mornings?
I just can't see how I can have another Citroen considering all the trouble I've had. I noticed whilst we were there yesterday that they had an S-Max on the forecourt.
Kids have short memories when they fall out, it's us parents that make it hard. Boys in particular can be scrapping on the floor on minute, then they're chatting about what they're gonna play next. Confuses the hell out of me! :rotfl:Too many children, too little time!!!0 -

thats exactly what j does, he holds it until he has to dance to the toilet and cant get his pants off quick enough! drives me mad, but i would have thought at lunchtime he could go to the toilet if he pleases, especially since he would have just had a glass of water with his lunch! if he mentions it again i will have a word with the teacher, could you give the school a quick call see if shes got a place before you walk up?0 -
Krystal, I'd ring the school and check. Sounds like a names out of the hat club. Our school then puts all the kids who didn't get in top of the list for the next term.Too many children, too little time!!!0

Thankfully that period cleared, but I had a bit of PND with her, I never bothered taking the pills though, just muddled along. I didn't think of her as mine for ages though and kept calling her "Ellie" I once left her in a shop in my mums village just because I wasn't used to having a baby to push in a pram
Plus if you think about it, your body has just went through a hell of a trauma getting the baby out, overwhelming love may occur, but I think relief and sleep is what's on most peoples minds
I suspect that you're probably right BM, and a lot more people than we might guess feel similarly - most mums probably just don't want to admit to not immediately loving their baby because they are afraid of what people might think. I know I felt embarrassed and like there was something wrong with me.Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

Krystal - I'd definitely check - it's easy for a slip to be 'misplaced'....

I already had to ring and check she'd got a place in the football club on Tuesday... I don't like ringing the office... It's run by poorly trained chimps lol...
My plan is, to walk down there and pick her up... If it transpires that she's got a place in the art club then I will tell her she can do it next week and take her home... If it turns out her friend has a place too, then I shall leave them both there and ring my friend and she can drive down and fetch them both after...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Whenever I've taught infants or reception the system has usually been to tell them to go to the toilet on the way out for playtime/lunchtime so that they didn't wait until they were desperate. I rarely had children ask to go in lessons but if they did I would say, "Can you wait until playtime/lunchtime or are you desperate?" and if they said they were desperate I let them go. Regardless of whether a child has issues in that department already, IMO it is not healthy to refuse to let them go if they say they need it. The reason we always told the children to go on their way out is that they are not old enough to think themselves to go until they need it and it is not reasonable to expect them to hold it. Just like when you're going shopping, you tell your child to go before you go out.
I really like the system they have at A's school in her reception class. They have two 'toilet bears', one girl and one boy. If they really HAVE to go to the loo, they are meant to just quietly get up and get the bear, take it to the toilet and leave it outside the door until they have finished, come back in and return the bear. That way they deal with it without disturbing the class or needing to get embarrassed.Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'
