Aless I'm 53kg and noticing I can't really skip my shower any more (although I often do anyway...). I'd be more inclined to think hormones.

That's interesting because a friend of mine was told her LO wasn't getting enough milk and that she should be having 20oz as well as three meals.

Sorry, that sounds a bit critical but I really don't mean it that way, just interested that HVs give such different advice. H's milk is still breast milk on the whole so I don't think that counts as dairy, but I never bother to go to the HV anyway so don't know what they advise :rotfl:.

She said 20 oz was the max they should have and as an example she said two lots of 8oz then the rest as yoghurt etc. She said to give them water in sippy cups with each meal. I thought it sounded different to what I'd heard on here. I quite liked the idea of it tho as it would make my life easier lol.

I've just had a frustrating conversation with vertbaudet. I ordered T a pair of booties in 9-12. He's not quite 5 months and they're too small! (he's just gone into 6-9 coz he does have big feet) I phoned to arrange an exchange and she took my new order but wasn't going to do anything about a collection until I asked.

She asked would I be in over the next 1-5 days. I said I'd be on for some but not all, but I could arrange to be when neccessary. She said they couldn't tell me when but did i have a safe, dry place i could leave them. i said no and she sounded shocked (surely it's not unusual??) and said could i post them back instead, but i'd have to pay postage. I refused and said it was unreasonable to expect someone not to leave the house for 5 days! She asked if I could leave them with a neighbour and I said not one who could guarantee to be in all that time! I asked what would happen if they came when i was out and she said they'd leave a message...I said i'll do that then....you know when you get off the phone feeling quite exhausted?!

A question for anyone who bottlefeeds either through formula or expressing - do you change the teat size and how often? when T has a bottle he still has size 1 and doesnt seem to mind. I'm just wondering if I'll need to get size 2 or 3 at any point. we use tommee tippee closer to nature.

  • I tend to alternate between the mitchum stick and the vaseline mushroom cream - I find if I use the same for a while it stops being quite so effective.

  • Gill - I think the '1', '2' or '3' refers to the flow rather than the size?
    If he's coping, I wouldn't worry.

ETA - I use those bottles too.

Big hugs all round to all you lovely ladies. I'm likely to be MIA till Monday or Tuesday, my friends are coming into town for the Oktoberfest :j

I must now give Stinkers McGee a bath so my friends are suitably impressed with how clean I keep her :o

Question: Where am I likely to find funky big (big big big!) pants? My friend is most likely having a section (the lowest twin is feet first, kicking the door to get out already and she's only just 34wks ) so I wanted to get her some big pants but possibly more funky than the, perfectly practical but not my usual style, pale pink numbers my mum got me from BHS.. :o Looked in Tesco today - they have every style in funky colours apart from the big pants which were pastels  Perhaps grannies don't "do" funky... :p

    Sorry that's what I meant!

The reason I ask is that I ordered what I thought were size 2s but they're 3s and I'm debating whether to keep them or send them back. They're a good price so I'd hate to return them and buy later on dearer! I just wondered what was usual and how I'd be able to tell if he needed faster flow.

  • Sorry Gill, I was being a bit obtuse. F is on number 3s - he's just started on them and they seem better for him.

Well E still has 45ozs a day and 3 meals a day lol

We changed Es teats to 2's when he was 4 weeks old, and to 3's when he was about 20 weeks old, we changed cos he was getting tired out drinking his bottle cos the milk wasnt flowing fast enough for him

GRR about your order thats ridiculous them expecting you to wait in a week
