we are having a really lazy day today - I'm still in my PJs (shhhhhh don't tell anyone)! I've decided to wait until Lo is having her nap and run myself a bath rather than a 2 second shower ;)

Off to visit friends and their new house this afternoon though - I'm looking forward to it. Then a relatively quiet weekend thankfully. FIL is doing a charity cycle ride on sunday so will see him at the finish line. And I fancy treating myself to a few hours in the kitchen and making us all a yummy roast :D

Oh - and I have a question. DH said again this morning that he feels we should start thinking about a number 2. He doesn't seem to be hearing me when I'm telling him that I'm not ready yet. Anyone else experienced this?

I used to cut out loads of little pics from smash hits, just 17 etc and use stickers that were always being given away with them for my exercise books then cover them in sellotape! No sticky backed plastic here!.
aww bless! I bet it took ages to do them all!!
We had an endless supply of sticky back plastic because one of the things mum did was cover all the school library and reading scheme books, My sis and I were experts as we'd been helping her do it for years by the time we got to high school so our books looked fab

3 - those monkeys at gibralter are mental! I had one on my head desperatley trying to get out my hair clip!!
 Those monkeys are EVIL!! A girl I used to work with now lives in Gib and loves it despite the vermin:p

so my worst nightmare has come true and far too early in life  my baby boy has experienced a bully :(
In the car on the way home yesterday he told me a boy had stabbed him on the nose with a fork  he had a little scratch just to the side of his nose right near his eye, I asked him if any of the staff saw and he said no and he hadn't told them either. I told him to make sure if anyone is mean or hurts him he needs to tell them. I got OH to ask him about nursery and made sure he didn't use any leading questions and he told him the same story.
This morning he didn't want to go but was also quite tired so I hoped it was just that but when he walked in and put his name on the board he saw the other boy's name (his 1st name is H as in the H of our last name so he can read that word) he said "oh no H is here I don't like him, he always hurts me" I'd explained the situ to one of the girls and she held him and said she'd keep a close eye on him and I left him to make a card for my GP's coz its both their birthdays this week.
I phoned earlier and was told he was fine but still quiet.

then to make my day crappier I asked the woman in tesco to pack my bag for me (I was carrying Ed in my arms which is my own fault but I'd only bought a pack of t-shirts & a pair wellies for chris and a pack of socks for OH) well she did it but looked at me like I'd asked her to do something hideous like wipe my !!!!! stupid cowbag!
She then loudly apologised to the TWO people in the queue behind me for the wait !!!!!!! I felt like saying next time I'm going to sainsbury's coz they always offer to pack my bag and do it with a SMILE!

ETA - we can't say Father Jack esque ar-se any more :(

Aww r.mac I wish I had that problem lol OH is 99% of the time completely against having another :(

I suppose maybe if he's not listening then you could try firmly saying NO! or saying not for another year to put him off a bit?
    I am rubbish sorry :o

Poor Chris Sami and how scary - stabbing in the nose?! That kid needs some serious NO time.

I would have gone to customer services and asked if it was inappropriate to ask that someone bag your purchases when you're not able to manage yourself and then raised a stink. How rude, the nasty cowbag. She's probably jealous of your lovely boy.

Must go forage for lunch. I came back from the supermarket with cinnamon cereal swirls and a few kinds of mild cheese for Her Stinkaliciousness. Let's see how she manages :)

  • sami, sorry your having a rubbish day, hopefully nursery will be able to sort this boy out and then your little one will be happier, thankfully i haven't had this yet with ds apart from when he said a girl at preschool was being mean but it turned out she'd just been trying to kiss him!

is it wrong that sometimes i think my baby looks like gollum? only every now and then when she gives me a certain look??

Poor Christopher. You did the right thing sami. I'm sure it will be nipped in the bud. It is great that he tells you these things. And I'm impressed with his reading too :D

thanks - we are going away the two of us in about 10 days and I wondered if thats what has brought it on. I am not saying never, and have told him that, just that I'm not ready emotionally or I think, physically. But I can't promise that I ever will want a number 2 either. I am so happy with my first attempt :rotfl: thanks x

eta: I don't want to upset anyone who would love more, or are having problems - I'm just looking for an insight and perhaps perspective. sorry if I cause any offense - I don't mean to.

  • r.mac it took me 3 years to feel ready for another, physically, emotionally and financially and i still wasn't sure i was all through being pg. I would like one more but again think it would be a 4-5 year gap for all the same reasons.
  • Happy birthday Michelle! :D

Lily slpet through again last night, i think her constant crying and being awake was due to a cold. Her nose is still producing massive boogies though _pale_

She has learnt to shake her head now, everytime she does it we say "Nooo" and shake our heads so she can associate the head shaking with the word 'No'. Its very cute :D

Sami, how rude of the shop assistant. In my Tesco they always offer to pack my bags but they are rubbish at bag packing so i'd rather do it myself. We try and fit most of what we can under the pram anyway.
Which reminds me, my clubcard vouchers aren't here yet. May have to call them back when i cba.
