Well I'm happy! All I wanted was a toy vacuum cleaner for my son who has developed a fascination with them recently and managed to get 1 for 6.49 online so didn't even need to leave the house0

sorry i just dont get how anyone can be disappointed or annoyed with a store having a sale. you either get an item at a lower price which is pleasing or you dont end of!. its just pot luck. good luck to anyone who can save a few pounds for christmas but come on lets get real everyone else. are you ranting at asda for only selling crap toys in their sale? sainsburys didnt have to reduce all toys in store did they. and yes i am going to the store to have a look and if i get what i want then great if not then i will just keep shopping round with the help of this board until i do get what i want.:T0

Morning all!
Shattered after staying up til 12.30 and then up at 5.30 to get to the store!
Gutted although I was there just after 6 all of the Vtech Video Cameras had gone, which was the main thing I wanted. Of course no Step 2 Kitchens in store but God knows how I would have carried that anyway!
Loads of Lego:
Fire Station
Police Station
Loads of Star Wars
Racers
Lego Games
Loads of Toy Story:
Interactive Buzz
Woody and Bullseye
Talking Woody
And loads more
Got Hello Kitty Cardz, Hello Kitty pillow, bop-it, chatimals!!!, Bendaroos, Bouncing Zebra, Vtech Scout (not Violet!) and loads of stocking fillers like puffles and sea monkeys.
People were loading up stuff like there was no tomorrow. Apparently only 6 of the same item allowed but not sure if that was the case.
Staff said they were getting deliveries each night and would be stocking up for the next morning.
Little tip- If like my store they have a seperate baby aisle try for toys down there. they had loads of vtech and fisher price stuff not marked up as half price but all included in the sale, was very quiet down that aisle!0 -

There isn't much there, I was a bit disappointed, esp after phoning yesterday and being told they had loads. It is mostly baby things and older kids stuff. No big lego sets which I was after, no Fireman Sam playset, no Disney Princess things I wanted, only the cash register. They did have smaller lego sets, a few City ones and Toy Story ones. HTH someone.

are these items usually available in your local store? if not, then the likelihood of them being there today is very low
ive got quite a big sainsburys near me, and ive never seen those in my local ever, so wouldnt have expected them to be there today. i dont think the instore sale is a con, seeing as all the toys are half price

If anyone is in Newport Gwent they had plenty of the video cameras there. Some opposite the lottery kiosk and some by the Chuggington toys in the toy aisle.I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.0

Just remember its not a 1 day toy sale, stuff will be restocked throughout the day0

ok, didn't wait up last night as too tired, I have a DD who suffers from night terrors. Got up this morning and nothing in the basket was reduced, gutted! Don't drive and the nearest store is an hour on the bus. Only wanted £60 before reductions worth of stuff so debating on spending £6 on the bus for a possible £30 saving IF they have what I wanted.
I know it is annoying that the staff get to pick before the store opens, but it is a perk of the job. They have kids too, or would you be happy if they waited until there shift was over to find that there kids got nothing?? Nobody can afford the full price of toys atm, not on the staffs wages or mine, as long as they didn't strip the shelf and ebay it, surely you can't complain, it has after all gone to a child that probably really wanted it.
Yes it is unfair that it is instore only though, as for those who don't drive, those who work and those who are too ill don't benefit, whereas the ebayers have all day.
As for sitting up all night, are you saying that people shouldn't be trying to get the things there kids want? It is no different to writing a shopping list, the basket is exactly that, it doesn't guarantee you will get what you want and it isn't depriving anyone else, because lets face it, as soon as it is posted on MSE, the vultures decend and those who do really want things are left without. Its called being resouceful.
ok, vented, sorry if I offended anyone. Good luck to all those who are venturing instore, now begins the hunt for a lullaby peppa for me.0 -
Just got back from White Rose Centre store in Leeds, a little queue at opening and most people rushed for Lego and Talking Woody dolls from Toy Story 3 - luckily I managed to get one for my son who has lost is and is gutted. It's got different phrases, I hope he doesn't notice!
I wanted a couple of Peppa Pig sets, they had some but not the ones I wanted. I got the playground set, and also a Megabloks Thomas the Tank Engine set, and I'm sure those two came up a bit cheaper at the tills than half price (or maybe I'm just not really with it at 8am!)
Make sure you go round the entire store though as there were end-of-aisle shelves stacked with different toys that a lot of people didn't spot as they stuck to just the same one aisle.
Now wondering whether or not to pop to Colton to see if I can get the last two things I wanted - anyone been there yet please?0
