I'm going to stop reading this thread, it's making me too annoyed. there seems to be a lot of holier than thou stuff going on. All the talk about all the bad people in the shops clearing shelves whilst the good honest folk at home on the internet. the saavy ones who have had their baskets full for hours and are already to refresh and go to bed. I didn't even know that could work but seems the internet equivilent to rushing a shelf.

Most of the stuff posted is mainly based on hearsay and guessing what is going to happen because that's how it happened last year. How sainsburys have ruined peoples christmas' and how they won't be spending their money at sainsburys. well it seems other people will do that for you anyway.

none of the few things I wanted came up in the sale but despite 3.5hrs sleep I'm not ranting like an idiot (well actually I am). my oldest only wants a DS for xmas and I can't afford that for him and certainly we can't afford a game for it so hoped to get a few items.

I'm going to look through the stuff now and see if anything that he might like to hide his disapoointment as I don't drive.

btw one last thing if people say I went to the the such and such store rather than my local store then people might have a clue what's happening in those stores rather than turning up and being disappointed.

I understand you are frustrated but some of what you said is really harsh!

I haven't read all the posts so I don't know if what you have said is directed at one person in particular, so I may have missed something.
  • Fosse Park Leicester, was one of first through doors and I thought it was pretty disapointing no larger items like the AA ride on which looks really lovely online, did get some lego, fisher price and playskool stuff, but as stayed up late benefitted from the good deals that were on Amazon in the wee hours, think they have all gone back up in price now.
I think the online selection is a joke I think Sainsbury's could find their profits dented this year as many people will not get the larger items as most stores not likely to stock them.
Just because your paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you ! :rotfl:

Just done a tour of 2 stores near Southampton and spent over £200 so very pleased. Got lots of Lego(toy story, city and star wars), some sylvanian bits, games etc. Have also stocked up my party present box so the receipients are going to think my kids are very generous next time they go out!!

Have been up since 5 and flagging already, and just got to work....matchsticks at the ready! x
  • Well, i have had 3 hours sleep, stayed up with lego in my basket and was so disapointed i could not sleep.

we only have a small store near us the does not stock toys, i'm not happy, i only wanted a lego set for dd for x-mas and theres no way i can afford full price and i can't get to a store.

If anyone see's a lego set (house, fire station of city set) i would be so greatfull if you could grab me one, i am happy to pay postage and a bit extra.

Hubby just called again. He spoke to a member of staff who said that the night staff had been supposedly meant to be been putting toys out, but were actually pushing the trolleys round & putting stuff in it for them & then exactly on store opening time they were going to the checkouts with their trolleys!

Apparantly there were 2x AT-AT's which were pinched by the staff.

I am so so fuming, I can't even begin to describe:mad:

That is extremely unfair & why didn't their manager pull them up on it, they were supposed to be working. The AT-AT's never even made it onto the shop floor.

Hubby did say that there is a Sainsburys suited bod pacing the aisles shaking his head. Good, I hope they suffer! And I do all my shopping at Sainsburys, so I don't just go there for the sale.

Ok, rant over. Off to have a coffee & look elsewhere now.

I dont think any of the larger Star Wars items were put out for this offer. My store is a large store, we went late last night, there was place for the larger Star Wars items.

AS above, I don't think any of these items are put out for the sale, they weren't last year or the year before I believe. I have seen none in my store, and I wanted this stuff too.

Anyone been to any of the stores in the Glasgow area yet? Need to drop ds at school before i go, Just wondering what the stores were like? Thanks :D

My husband has just been to Darnley in Glasgow. Apparently quite quiet, but a fairly limited selection. There were a few people stuffing piles of Lego into their trolleys, so wouldnt rush there if that is what you are after...

Hi, I'm another who stayed up till 1am and went to my local store for it opening (Dundee). There isn't much there, maybe 1/3 aisle if even that and a few bits at the ends of aisles. I was a bit disappointed, esp after phoning yesterday and being told they had loads. It is mostly baby things and older kids stuff. No big lego sets which I was after, no Fireman Sam playset, no Disney Princess things I wanted, only the cash register. They did have smaller lego sets, a few City ones and Toy Story ones. HTH someone.

ETA: a million thanks to the person who mentioned the kiddizoom cameron at Amazon, thats what I was really wanted and when I seen the post earlier I got one before I left for Sainsburys. Thanks a lot.

Lets hope Argos do a 25% off lego in the comming weeks, toysrus often do offers on lego and playmobil, i guess we will just have to shop around. Good luck xxx
  • I hope all ther people who've only had 3 or 4 hours sleep aren't driving to their local stores...
