Virus and fatal system error I cant get past a blue screen with c000021a fatal system

    Thanks Closed. If what Donnie is helping with doesnt sort it I will give it a try but I am in the middle of trying to sort it and as my last post shows I have a load of computer script on my screen and at the moment dont seem to be able to move it.

    Try Rebooting the computer to see if the problem reoccurs. You can do so by pressing the Reset button on your PC if you have one.

    Couldnt find a reset button so had to turn it off manually by hand but back to square one. We could try it again but could you explain the procedure in more detail please, like whats the BIOS? tanks Donnie its much appreciated:D

    I think you have to tap F2 as the computer is restarting to get into the BIOS.

    But you may not need to go into the BIOS, as apparently there may be an extra step that needs to be taken to get the DELL(I hate DELL) to boot from the CD. Not only do you have to select it to be first in the list, but apparently you have to place a tick somewhere...as in this reply
    I haven't got an image to look at so I can't give more exact instructions.

    As an aside, have you looked at the Diagnostic LEDs?

    Would you consider a Factory Restore?
