Virus and fatal system error I cant get past a blue screen with c000021a fatal system

Windows xp c000021a fatal system error help please?
I had a virus on my computer and in opening it in safe mode to rectify i minimised the windows and they vanished. I tried everything and eventually had to turn the computer off without shutting it down properly. When I restarted it in safe mode it came up with
STOP: c000021a {fatal system error}. Even logging in to safe mode results in the computer shutting down and the error message appearing. Thanks in advance for your help its much appreciated.

Running ComboFix via Hiren's Boot CD 11 should remove the malware.

Where do you get it from? I cant get it on the crashed computer via the internet because when I press f8 to go into safe mode windows starts to load up and then I get the blue screen and cant do anything else. So I am doing this on my laptop.

A Boot CD works from Boot Up, so no reason to load the OS.

Download the .iso image from here Towards the bottom of the page, above 'Continue', you will see 'Direct HTTP Mirror'. Click on that to begin the download and save it to a working PC.

Once complete, you can extract the files from the .rar you just saved and burn the image to CD with the utility provided. Guide.

Once completed, place the BootCD in the drive of the corrupted machine and reboot. Hit 'Boot from CD' if presented.

Yes but usually on my computer thats died. This one is windows Vista so it works different to XP. I am downloading it again and thought I would save it as 'all files ' . So i will see in a minute if its worked its on 96%. When I did open the other zipped file it said it was empty.
