I love that film!
Managed to do a few jobs off the list, insurance renewal is around £560 from memory, £50 more than last year so will give them a ring. It's not bad for a multi car and house policy but happy to save where I can.
Made a good start on wrapping presents but it does mean the dining room is out of action. Planning to stash wrapped presents at my mums so will arrange that and inform her of my plans!!!Made a couple of small 3bay purchases so £5 spent there, top up shop done and shoes exchanged with an extra £15 on top! Dd was convincing us none of her shoes fit but as her feet haven't grown I'll see how she goes!Yesterday went really slowly so I'm hoping for a repeat performance today. Off to football this morning (ds's first game!) then plan to make some slow cooker fudge this afternoon as a trial for doing some as homemade gifts.
hope you all have a relaxing/productive Sunday - whatever is needed most.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5 -
Good luck to DS! I'm liking the sound of the slow-cooker fudge too.2023: the year I get to buy a car4

Ahhhh, lots of lovely visitors.Sadly the fudge hasn't been made yet due to a slightly busier Sunday than Saturday and then busy with work etc. I will dig out the recipe/method and then share on here. I've order fudge gift boxes so we best have a trial run soon or we will be gifting our very first attempt!!Still haven't phoned car insurance - I will do this if it means saving £50! Dog is booked in for a doggy day care day for a family day out we have planned just before Christmas. Will mean we can enjoy it and not worry about rushing back and he will have a fab time and also be tired for a few days! Not much else to report, feeling a little flat (it will pass) so going to watch something funny or read for a bit to distract myself.December spendsSupermarket £93.99Fuel £28June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5

thanks debtfree, It has passed.
Feeling productive today, day at work, booked eye test for ds and finally phoned car insurance company. Was hoping for around £50 knocked off to match last years price - they knocked off £80!!!! Always ring them!£2.40 requested from tcb so have overpaid that, money shuffle done, payday for dh tomorrow so more shuffling to be done.Thought I'd best make a list of what parcels we are still expecting to arrive - there are 9 so I think it's time I stopped ordering. Wrapping is also still very much a work in progress and the days are quickly flying by.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!4 -
2 more parcels have arrived so will update my waiting list tomorrow! £5.93 overpayment this morning, £200 sent to cc with more planned but don't want to run the current account down too much!
Can't believe there are only two weekends until Christmas, not sure I explained it to ds that well as he now thinks Christmas is next weekend!! Have a few jobs to get done this weekend but am mindful of also being able to recharge my batteries a little. Have had a demanding week and have felt a little frazzled at times. Some extra sleep and very little pressure will certainly help me recharge again in time for Monday!
DH has discovered he's being paid for a weeks holiday he's accrued and unable to take before contract changes next week. Will stash it to one side just in case we need to isolate in the near future and he loses wages but hoping desperately (for various reasons) it isn't needed for that! We are laying very low and reducing our risks as much as possible.
Also planning to make the slow cooker fudge this weekend, if it is a success I shall report back with the recipe and method! The fudge gift boxes have arrived so it would be a shame for them to go to waste and this is just the practise batch!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5 -
Glad you’re feeling better. Well done on the insurance renewal. Always worth shopping about isn’t it or challenging current providers. You’ve reminded me we’ve got our BT contract to sort out!
can’t wait to hear how the fudge goes. I would suggest with a practice batch you taste test after making and every few hours to see how the fudge tastes longer term. 😂DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
