I hadn't thought about the plans for the new year yet! But it's important, I hadn't caught up with finance plans the way I meant to.
I hadn't realised you're in what's now Tier 4, Cath, sorry to hear it - I hope that Christmas is a good one, however small it is.2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
sorry that plans have had to change Cath. Kinda expecting more announcements tbh for the rest of us pre Christmas. Hope you’ve got some low key alternatives.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Thanks everyone, Christmas was always going to be low key but it's impacted on some other plans we had. Am thankful there aren't any non-essentials we don't need! Tea lights are likely to be the first thing I'll run out of but I'm sure I'll survive, the evenings just won't be as pretty!
Tried to make the most of today, had booked an annual leave day but our plans were cancelled. Today has been a good day overall although I did have an unplanned nap after dinner!2.5 working days left before I finish for a Christmas break, I think we are just about ready. Just one more food shop needed for buffet type foods and other than that we can stay at home, recharge and just enjoy our time off together. This is the first time in 19 years together dh has had a proper Christmas break so that is well overdue and he really deserves it!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!6 -

Definitely debtfree and we are going to enjoy it.
One more working day for me to go, have made another batch of fudge after work today, it's decorated and just needs portioning up and the gift boxes assembling. dh has done the food shop and we just need some bits tomorrow - French stick, maybe more bail3ys!Payday today, still haven't shuffled over the CB money and dh gets paid again tomorrow. It will be quite a money shuffle when I actually find the time to do it!

Hello, we had a lovely relaxing day. It didn't feel Christmassy in the traditional sense and it's odd not seeing extended family but we have had a good time. I think the children have probably benefitted from not needing to be a certain places at certain times and have enjoyed the more relaxed feel.Am feeling tired this morning (can't blame alcohol/eating too much or a late night as there was none of that) so I'm hoping this 3rd coffee kicks in! So far I have cleaned the kitchen, loaded dishwasher, put a load of washing on, sorted bins/recycling and checked the accounts. Have worked out what needs to go where and am sending a good chunk to PB and stoozing card (as that has crept up and not really a stoozing card at the moment!) DH had an extra weeks pay as contract changed in work so was paid out the holidays he had accrued and not used. Sent him a bonus and the rest will go in the holiday fund (although I can't see that happening in 2021).Today's plan is buffet food and little cooking (dh is in work) and a dog walk/kids bike ride before the forecast storm hits. Finished my book yesterday so have my new one ready, I often have a gap between books so want to start this one asap especially as the story line is around NYE. Hope you are all enjoying the festiviites however relaxed/low key they are.46p tilly tidy this morning.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5

Good morning, we're having a late start here this morning. I don't think any of us have slept very well (apart from dd who has her bedroom on the front of the house) due to the awful rain overnight. It felt like it was trying to get through the window! Ds is still in bed which isn't like him at all. So far, the dog has been fed and out and I've made a coffee.
The plan over the next two days before I go back to work is just to get a few jobs done and build some lego watching more films.Spent some time yesterday helping dd to clean and reorganise her room (she is rather messy) and now must things have a place. Am on the look out for some second hand drawers for a corner of her room and the plan would be to upcycle them. Need to get some frames up on her wall and it will look like the room I have imagined it could be.Both children's clothes need reorganising and I imagine charity bags will be filled.Need to clean both bathrooms.
Planning to take down just some of the Christmas related decorations. I have created little areas so will keep some but some things can be packed away. Also need to think about storage for the Christmas stuff. We usually store it in the shed but that's full of bikes so not ideal so need to find some storage places inside which isn't easy in a 70's house.30p requested from tcb and sent as a Tilly tidy.Right, off to put the kettle back on....June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5 -
Good morning!
I'm hoping for a productive day and haven't woken up feeling exhausted so am taking advantage. Yesterday I managed to sort out the Christmas decorations (this actually means they are piled in the dining room awaiting their permanent place of storage!) We also went out for another long dog walk/bike ride which took up a big chunk of the day by the time the children were rounded up to leave and fed afterwards. Speaking of food, now we have made our way through the turkey leftovers and the buffet food - there's not that much left! We definitely need bread and milk so will pop out for that at some point and made an @ngel delight with the old milk.
So far this morning I have sorted some washing, deep cleaned both bathrooms (that I should have done yesterday) and am about to tackle the children's bedrooms. We really need to streamline our storage and a declutter over the next few weeks is needed. It's just made more difficult with charity shop drop offs being really hard to book. I have used a company before that collected so once we have a good few bags I think I'll book a slot.
Would much prefer to sit on the sofa for a bit catching up with S@rah B33ny new life in the c0untry series, but will save that for later.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5
