I'm looking at changing our too. I think I've realised OH cannot do DIY really. My lovely flags last year look terrible from the outside. I need people to re do lots of things. But they are not a need right now anyway.Mortgage restart June 2018 £119950Re mortgage August 19 £110470, … Mortgage November 22 £85600 final 0% CC 3300Home renovations - £65000, mid 2018 - mid 20222

I definitely need to remain focused on 'need' not 'want' regarding the garden. I guess as long as its functional and fairly attractive that's enough and it will never look as good as the day it was completed anyway.Just finished two long days so having a slow morning. It's payday so money shuffles have been done. After mostly emptying the accounts a few days ago I completely emptied them yesterday and sent another £29 to mortgage part 2 which knocked a month off and we are close to the £30k's!Also spotted the £50 refund from car insurance company had been refunded to payment card.Used some of our 'extra' money from wages to top up the premium bonds so another £400 sent there and paid another £100 off 0% card which is coming down nicely and hopefully we will be offered some balance transfer deals in next couple of months.Hoping for some restful days off now with some warm sunshine as I have missed most of it this week. It's breezy today so I'm going to take advantage and hang the washing out!May spendsSupermarket £140.23Fuel £29June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!4

Well it remained breezy to the point that I couldn't even sit outside and the garden cushions needed moving to avoid being blown away. I did manage to cut the lawns later in the day so the whole garden actually looks better now. May temporarily save me from wanting a complete garden makeover! Watered the plants and realised a few pots are overcrowded (plants I bought have grown better than expected) so I will separate and re-pot them at some point today. I also adjusted my solar lights so they look a bit prettier now aswell. As much as I love light evenings I do enjoy seeing them switch on as the sun goes down.Couple of surveys done so a bit closer to payout on those. I did attempt to sit in the garden with my morning coffee but ended up pinning the cushions down again. Will try again later!!May spends

I was in the garden this morning and saw my neighbour's parasol pop over the fence to the neighbours' gardden on the other side!

Apple I've seen locally get a few items have blown pretty far from home! Thankfully the weather is a lot calmer now.Been in work for two long days and ready for a couple of days off now. Made a Tilly tidy overpayment of £1.88 a few days ago and a food/fuel shop has been done. When I'm less tired tomorrow I'll transfer funds over to cc and update totals. Dh also gets paid this week so hopefully can make our money work hard for us by moving that appropriately. Not much else to report really.....June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5

It's a bright sunny day and I have a day off!
Not going to make huge plans for today but a little productivity would be good. Dh has cut the hedges and cleaned the glass in French doors and patio doors whilst I've been working which is helpful.Today I plan to check on my plants, perhaps finish my book, do some washing and eat healthily!Money wise, cc bill has arrived so have paid that, cc stoozing done and spends updates. If we could sneak in just under £250 food and fuel spends for the month that would be amazing! This means we have about £15 left to spend and I need to make my fuel stretch to one more work commute this week (Dh got fuel yesterday). Will make more financial plans/challenges once Dh payslip is in tomorrow.May spends

I've had a productive day! Only difference has been sunshine and good nutrition.Encouraged the children outside away from technology and despite their initial resistance we had a lot of fun. We played loads of simple but fun games, hey also helped me dig out/tidy an area of the garden to reveal some paving slabs. I knew they were there but it's been a long time since I've seen them as it had got overgrown. We plan to finish tidying it tomorrow (I need Dh help to dig out a persistent root) and then will move the barbecue there. Timed it well as the garden bin was out for collection and managed to get rid of the waste in time.Line dried some washing, provided endless snacks and drinks, finished my book and started a new one whilst topping up my vitamin d (I'm actually a bit pink!) so hoping to have a golden glow tomorrow!Dh considering a food shop tomorrow, that's the budget blown! I'm simply looking forward to another day in the sunshine.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5

I did get my sunny day, thanks both. Long day at work again yesterday missing much of the sunshine but have a bit of a break again now and plan to make the most of the lovely weather. A few days ago we created a new barbecue area and today I have tidied up the garden some more, moved planters to brighten up dull corners of the garden and put up some more solar lights. I've been planning to make one of these homemade solar fountains everyone seems to be making but couldn't get the silver balls today (dh looked whilst doing a food shop). We did however sort out our two garden containers and have a pile of stuff ready for the skip. We now have two spider and general mess free containers an reorganised them so that one has garden items and the other play equipment. Managed to find so many of the toys we have bought over the years and we are now armed with badminton, tennis an basketball equipment so planning a mini olympics in the garden with the children. The garden really is looking lovely (the lawn looks dreadful however) and we have definitely saved ourselves the 1000's we had mentally spent on a makeover!£200 sent to premium bonds today, another £48 to 0% cc and £100 to mortgage 2. Hasn't quite knocked a month off but we'll now be in the 30's when the payment goes out on Monday which we weren't scheduled to do until September. Food shop and tank of fuel spends today but that should give us a headstart on June.A productive and positive day in the sunshine has been had. Any inside jobs are waiting until the weather turns!May spendsSupermarket £249.26Fuel £79June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!7
