A slow day but it's almost over, Wasn't it cold today? I didn't venture out until late afternoon as it was cold enough pegging the washing out earlier. Don't think the weather has helped with my energy levels today and I'm not happy feeling non-productive but know there are lots of reasons why I feel this way. None of it is forever though and I'm looking forward to getting my mojo back. Have slipped back into awful eating habits and very little water being drunk (shift work and 12 hour shifts are partly responsible).
CB landed today and was slightly more than it used to be so £3 overpaid. Accounts looking healthy and not long until
payday. Also emailed travel agents today who assured me that holiday company is manning its way through cancellations (albeit a bit random in terms of dates) and that the card we paid with would be refunded. I'm just hoping we don't have to wait weeks/months for it.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!7 -
hope it comes soon for you Cath and the shifts aren't too arduous.

Thanks mfd, I've quickly remembered that your first day off is a recovery day. It's my second day off today so feeling a little brighter and the sun is out which helps.
debtfree I hope you're not waiting too long. We booked via an agent so hoping we've more protection but I do feel a little out of control with it as not actively pursuing it.
Plan this morning is a long dog walk, I didn't leave the house yesterday and that's not good for me. Do some washing, Hoover, clean bathrooms. Other than that I may just potter/sit in garden reading.Dh did a food shop yesterday and the accounts are looking very healthy. Payday is end of next week! Think I'll split the extra between the mortgage/savings/0% card. Not much else to report, we really are just quietly plodding.

There's many a day that I don't leave the house other than to go in our 6/7m long garden! After damaging my ankle and being unable to walk much for weeks, and definitely not able to drive for 4, (that was 5+ weeks ago), I guess I've got used to it. I do a workout most days now and maybe use the car once or twice a week. I quite like being a hermit! Though I've no doubt gotten rather lazy...!

Good luck with the holiday refund Cath, I received a cruise refund this week and was getting very nervous after it taking a lot longer than we were originally told, hopefully it won’t be too long!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5

I've always been happy to stay in all weekend (even pre-lockdown) and like having nowhere to be. I think due to having major job changes at the moment it has affected my need for routine. Hopefully life will be somewhere closer to normal soon. Hope your ankle is healing now Apple, I'll pop over to you diary.Oh that's good you've had it newgirly, we've had no specific confirmation our holiday is cancelled other than the general message that there is no travel. We have decided to spend the money on the garden and have been sketching out some designs and looking at work done by local companies for ideas. We are due to renew the fencing next month so will see how we feel after that as it may enhance the look of the
garden enough.62p cashed our from tcb yesterday and overpaid. I've had an email from our car insurance provider who are refunding £25 per policy so that's £50
going back on the cc. I've been stoozing as much as possible and as we spend on it I pay it off from the current account with the extra £1 here and there to chip away. Also sent an extra few pounds to clear the interest for the month. Not the most MSE way to manage it but it's working for us and the balance is coming down.Diet has been slighter better today but I'm still very fatigued so think I definitely need to address my water intake. That's definitely doing to be top of my to do list for tomorrow!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!6 -
Quick check in.60p Tilly today and a £5.60 top up shop. Needed bread, milk and fruit so Dh used self checkout in supermarket. We are trying our best to only go (well for Dh to go) once a week but running out of basics is not good.Small amount of home schooling done today but thankfully now have a working printer. I think ds is happier to use worksheets than have to create work from scratch!!Will try and move some money into savings tomorrow as it's almost payday and we are in a privileged position of having surplus funds!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!3

Used up some of surplus funds effectively today. £100 into premium bonds, £90 mortgage overpayment, £100 to 0% cc and £50 to n3xt to pay off my sale spends! The sun finally came out here today so I have topped up my vitamin d reading my book outside. Have also looked at our garden re-design plans again as the garden has the potential to be a money pit, we'd be getting workmen in to do it all and I wonder how much of it is really necessary.2 long working days now and then payday Friday. I'm hoping it's still sunny for my next day off! Will shuffle any remaining cash on/before payday to make sure our money is working hard for us.May spendsSupermarket £108.77

We too need work doing in the garden and are trying to balance between what we needed v ‘want’ and also working out what we can realistically do ourselves and what we need workmen for. All whilst trying to keep costs to a minimum!4
