Yes thankfully easily sorted. Haven't got the headspace to make any overpayments but will sort out ASAP. On checking the current account I've noticed that our landline/broadband costs have shot up so will ring up to query that this week. Also need to sort out a new energy deal as our has come to an end. It's likely that I will stay with the same provider but need to see what deals they have.

Small food shop so the monthly spends begin very early in the month!

Feeling drained again so hoping it's just the virus leaving my system!

    October spends

    Supermarket £22.82
    Fuel
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!

Not feeling very productive this week. I think I need to write a jobs list for the weekend was work my way through it. Don't have huge tasks to do, just lots of small ones which are really mounting up.

Small overpayment of 20p this morning, keeping up the Tilly tidies definitely keeps the motivation going.

Spends also remain low, £30 on fuel today but no spends otherwise. Meanwhile, the virus lingers on. I really hope I've had my quota of germs for the Autumn/Winter.

    October spends

    Supermarket £45.95
    Fuel £30

It's the weekend and I'm nearly better! Have suddenly turned a corner which I am most grateful for. Lovely lie in this morning until 7:45 and it's all systems go now.

Dh just gone off to dd's football and taken ds and the puppy so it's time to blitz the house (once I've had my coffee and posted on here if course).

Few admin tasks on the jobs list today:

    Cancel gym direct debit
    Ring broadband company
    Sort out new B*G@S deal
Book on another puppy training class for recall

Other than that will just do some money shuffling and possibly some overpaying. 50p on YOuG0v this morning, have had some problems logging into the app so might stop once I get to payout this time (I'm about halfway there).

Couple of Tilly tidies yesterday. 98p from account and £2.10 requested from tcb.

    Totalled up our September figures....

    Extra overpayment £327.09
    Supermarket £150.91
    Fuel £130.01

Right, best get moving whilst the house is quiet. It takes me back to having a toddler where I learned to do the housework very fast when given the opportunity and the children were out!

Well yesterday ended up being productive but a little spendy.

Sorted out broadband, our contract had ended so they've secured us a good deal going forward and credited the account with £20 to offset some of the extra costs we have incurred. That kind of customer service makes me realise why I'm so loyal to them.
Also sorted out new energy deal, there weren't many to choose from but we have been put on a temporary deal so best to get it sorted. I did go through tcb for £100 but it doesn't appear to have tracked properly so that might be one to chase. All other admin tasks done and also overpaid £75 off the mortgage which knocked another month off.

Managed to get all my housework done so planning a more relaxed day today. Got the puppy out for a couple of good walks yesterday so hoping he's just as keen today if we get the rain that is forecast.

Popped to h0me bargains for a birthday card, spent £28 and Dh went out for wine and spent similar. Really need to get back to being alcohol free, for some reason I really fancied a glass or two last night.

    October spends

    Supermarket £74.62
    Fuel £30

A Sunday was fairly well spent but lacked a nap! Just spent the whole afternoon needing one. Went out for a good dog walk, puppy socialised with three other dogs and also went off lead for the first time which was a success. He spent the whole afternoon sleeping but has regained his bouncy energy this morning! Dd helpfully got up with him this morning so I think she may have found herself a new job as it helped me out so much.

Minimal spends yesterday £1 on parking (Dh paid) and £8 on necessary puppy items including puppy shampoo! Also did some batch cooking so a couple of meals sorted which hopefully avoids the need to enter a supermarket.

67p Tilly tidy this morning to start the week with mortgage freedom focus.

I can't see me changing from these, definitely have my brand loyalty.

Quietly plodding in the background. Virus was almost gone but had a few episodes of breathing problems which are not pleasant. Will try and manage them and see how I go.

Tilly tidies made each day and also has some spare pennies after bills went out of an account so £4.30 overpaid this morning which is better than yesterday's 20p tilly tidy. Will update spreadsheet after making the large overpayments I still haven't got around to doing (current account looking rather healthy for this stage in the month).

Right, best get ready for work. I'm hoping to work out what annual leave I need to take for
Holiday periods and see if I have any spare for a 'me day'. Half term still feels so far away. Am
Absolutely exhausted and fancy a day just pottering.

Happy weekend, I am hoping it's productive as have a few jobs I want to get done. Mostly moving furniture which is usually a job I regret starting :rotfl:

Have also done some quick mortgage calculations. Our second mortgage is still in its infancy (money borrowed for extension and an excellent decision so no regrets). I have quickly worked out that if we port across the £740 we pay for M1 to M2 when M1 ends, we could quite quickly clear the balance. As things stand, when M1 ends we will have around £28k on M2 so porting that money from Jan 28-Aug 30 will clear that balance. Just over 10 years away. The plan is to bring that Aug 30 date forward which we will. This current plan doesn't take into account the overpayments we currently make and I can also port across my student loan repayments from around 2029 (this will help bring end date forward).

I do like having a plan and focus.:j

Also have some mini goals as payday is around 10 days away and accounts healthy. DH and I have agreed what is left out of food account can be spent on some new clothes (lots of ours are really past their best). This may result in some interesting meals over the next week to maximise our clothes budget.

Right, I need to get dressed and walk the puppy as he's rather wild this morning and keeps zooming up and down the kitchen. He's not keen on walking on the estate as too eager to get home so will take him to the park. Hopefully I can report back later to say what a productive day I have had and how wonderfully tidy and organised the house is!
