Hmmm, still feeling a bit odd. Think some mindfulness would help. I did organise the house as planned on Saturday. Hung lots of pictures, transformed the spare room into a study and Dh sorted out some storage in the utility room so that looks better.

£13.30 spends on wine, crisps and dips. This spending and calorie intake needs to stop so Dh and I have agreed to a bit of a health kick. I've had a good first day with no biscuits as these have been my downfall later. I honestly think that addressing my nutrition will give me the boost that I need.

Did some online browsing for new clothes for me. Filled my basket in 3 different stores but didn't follow through with the purchase. I did find a couple of suitable tops/dresses new on 3bay though so they should be here in the next few days.

Not much planned for the working week. Hopefully some crisp Autumn days await and I can spend some time in the Autumn sunshine as this dreary weather definitely is not helping.

Hmmm, awake 4 or 5 times in the night and woken with a headache. Not a good start to this happy mindful week I'm planning!

30p Tilly tidy to keep up the momentum.

Another day awaits. Restless nights sleep again, not sure why. Was busy after work prepping tonight's meal as we are out at parents evening and our first puppy training class. Dh can feed the children quickly before I come home from work and then I'll eat later. Healthy eating yesterday didn't go to plan due to massive sugar cravings. Feel like I'm in a vicious cycle of eating too much sugar, levels dropping and then needing some more.

55p Tilly tidy this morning, payday next week so I really do need to make some overpayments and set some money aside for Christmas shopping.

    October spends

    Supermarket £129.54
    Fuel £90.01

I hear you on the sugar, im struggling too with energy levels, crave sugar/carbs but then crash again after a few hours. Im thinking a detox may help the cycle!

Good luck with the puppy training classes, and parents evening!

Thanks Brodiebobs, I'm definitely trapped in a cycle of really poor nutrition. Have a day off today and thankfully there are no biscuits I like in the cupboard!

Haven't got huge plans for today as have take an annual leave day just for me. Have cleaned the lounge carpet so that's looking fresher and not bugging me anymore. 77p tilly tidy done, spreadsheet updated and realised tidying up the current account with a £78 overpayment knocked off another month. That's 8 months knocked off since April, this overpayment business really works! £150 also transferred into savings toward Christmas spends. Am hoping the children will give us an idea of what they would like pretty soon so that we can get planning.

Parents evening and puppy training went well. Not looking forward to the clocks going back though as it was pitch black, cold and wet when we left there around 7:20pm. It will make it easier to spot the dog in the garden in the mornings though!

Right, going to finish watching this mornings property programme and potter doing some jobs.

Evening CathT, I hope you are feeling well. Glad to hear parents evening went well, ours is tomorrow so wish me luck!

You are so productive and sound like you have a great plan in place. Is the main idea to clear the mortgages in about 8 years?

I'm glad to see they are still called tilly tidies - I thought I may have been away too long!
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck :)

Hi Sml, definitely hoping for mortgage 1 to be gone in that time. The regular payment on mortgage 2 is only £216 so that wouldn't be a problem to run on longer but I don't want it to. Definitely want that one gone a couple of years maximum once mortgage 1 finished. Just keep plodding away with overpayments and watch that balance/end date come down.

Productive day off. Lounge carpet cleaned, u had a lazy couple of hours catching up on some recorded programs I enjoy, lovely dog walk with Dh in the woods to make the most of some brief Autumn sunshine. Felt good to be out in the fresh air. Came home and I cleaned Dh's car whilst he had a quick power nap before the school run. I then made a cheeky midweek roast dinner to use up the leftover veg and made a pear crumple with the pears that wouldn't get eaten.

Dd had football training so a late night getting in for her (pesky Winter training times). However busy part of the week is done so hopefully a relaxing countdown to the weekend.

£2.42 food spends and £3 on a dress on 3bay. I've had far more expensive days off in the past! Dh and I used to blow around £100 pre-children by the time we had bought clothes, DVD's and gone out for lunch.

  • I wish mine would reduce months, it reduces monthly payment randomly, but the term stays the same..
glad you had a productive day off!

Hi debt free, it's only my spreadsheet making those reductions. I keep standard payments/term the same as it's a nice fall back. E.g mortgage 1 we send a standard £408 overpayment each month to keep that one on track with where we would like it to end.

Dh has had an annual pension review, it's one with Hally and the new layout of the statement really simplifies it for us. It's had very little growth this year and although we don't have a huge amount of money to play with, it reminds me that we really need to diversify.

77p Tilly tidy made up of 75p from tcb and 2p in the account!

    This weekend I need to.....

    Continue with puppy training homework.
    Complete high school application.
Open new savings accounts for the children as their current one is about to mature.

Not too demanding so should get done! Other than that plan to keep all spends low so we have money for clothes shopping (although I've already made a few 3bay purchases).

Have a fab Friday and start to the weekend.
