Payday and money shuffled. Remember to send less to the bills account and not send the overpayment I doubled up on last month. Can't believe we financially survived that error! They with a huge childcare bill was a little stressful.

15p Tilly tidy today and clicks done on tcb.
Had a productive couple of days in the garden and managed to get some of the jobs done we needed to. Came to an abrupt end as garden bin is full and we ran out of garden rubble bags.

Children have had some great fun on the water slide mat we bought at the weekend. Whilst the hot weather is wonderful
I am still roasting and wondering how I'm going to get any sleep! Never wanted stormy weather to arrive so badly! Garden cushions in the house in preparation.

you've tempted me to get a water slide. The drive to the shops is putting me off though... however we have lots of childcare to do this summer

It may be worth the trip mfd. The children are at holiday club tomorrow morning but ds already planning to make the most of the hot weather.

Thanks Apple, it should be more straightforward this month!

12p Tilly tidy and a small shop on bread and toilet rolls. Too hot for the gym but have done my steps. Any exercise tomorrow needs to be achieved before it gets too hot.

Have revisited our SOA - I am amazed how far our money stretches especially since almost £1000 goes on the mortgages before additional overpayments. Our piano lesson costs are creeping up and I didn't realise they were costing so much but all these extra curricular activities won't be forever. Cancelling the gym from September but funds going to be redirected so no great reduction to outgoings.

Can't believe it's almost the weekend, having two extra days off this week has definitely helped with that.

Hoping for a much cooler day today. The children have really struggled with the heat and nights have been uncomfortable. Forecast to be much cooler here today but not feeling it at the moment!

40p Tilly tidy and accounts looking good - makes a pleasant change from last month!

Spends have remained low this week, spends on toilet roll and bread, contributed to a work collection. There is a cake sale at work today so need spare cash and calories for that. Small food shop and one bottle on wine to be purchased later. Wine spends creeping up again and I'm not really fussed about drinking. Have discovered a diet fizzy drink which I'm happy with as long as it's in a wine glass.

I really must tax the cars later. We were informed they were £30 a year car tax when we bought them, have since discovered they're not but have had to factor that into the expenses. May trade them in a year early next year.

Enjoy a slightly cooler day everyone.

Its amazing what we can stretch/cut/accomplish when the pressure is on. We were similar last month and it was unexpected school trips (3 of them) and kids birthday parties. Once weekend we had 5 to take them to, plus a little present for football coach and another party for his football team!
Also a reminder of how people can get into trouble if you take your eye off the balances.

Here's hoping for a less volatile month.

    Hi everyone 😊
I've been on and off these forums for 10 years and I always come back to the MF Wannabe ones! I would love to be mortgage free, but it's just me. I work part time at a low paid job and feel like I'm never going to be able to over pay.
I have a question please Cath T . When you do your Tilly tidiies, do you pay them straight to your mortgage or to a savings account? The last time I overpaid I had to call my bank and arrange the overpayment...I don't think that will be happening for a few pence!
Thanks, everyone have a lovely day 😊

Thanks jimmy, account should be fine as long as I don't make anymore major transfer/overpayment errors!

Car tax direct debits now set up debt free, just annoying having to add them on to the SOA.

Hi pirate girl, good luck with your mortgage free journey. I send my Tilly tidies (round down the account to nearest pound) and overpay straightaway. Some people build them up and transfer weekly. My mortgage is with fd and they are supportive of overpaying the mortgage.

So today I've sorted out the car tax, payments will start next month, overpaid the mortgage by £12 (had a refund into current account). However, i woke with a headache, have eaten too much rubbish to combat the feeling of low blood sugar and had a nap. Need to try and stay awake now to enjoy the evening!

    Hi CathT
Thank you for the clarification 😊. I've just tried to make a payment to mortgage through online banking and I'm not allowed, so will save my Tilly's up! Might save for a month, see what I get and then increase monthly payment by that amount. We shall see!
    Enjoy your day.
