    Just lost a huge post!!

Hello to all my lovely visitors, *waves*

Managed to get to the gym yesterday and today. Have mixed up my workouts a bit and got back into running on the treadmill. Only 5k but it gets my steps up and I enjoy it. I was thinking whilst I ran today that in theory I could run everyday (I need rest days from weights) but my legs are telling me otherwise this evening.

Had a spendy weekend due to birthday parties for the children so hoping for a less spendy week. The children had their pocket money on Saturday and I'm a bit annoyed dh took ds to the supermarket to spend it and he spent it all on plastic tat.

We were due to go out next weekend to see a comedian but can no longer go. However, we sold the tickets for £64 and will have a date night at home with one of his DVD's and some vino.

Couple of supermarket trips this weekend so need to stay away tomorrow. Have taken some bread out of the freezer to help with this as a quick trip leads to excess spends.

One more week of money shuffling/stoozing!

    July spends

    Supermarket £136.91
    Fuel £50
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!

    Good morning.

The final week of mint shuffling has suddenly come to an end as £525 of childcare costs cheques have left the account. No amount of shuffling/stoozing is going to cover that! Will just have to stay in the red for a week and pay the £1 daily bank charge.

So this weeks plan has now become damage limitation!

I'll have to try it mfd.

Steady progress here. £1.50 shop yesterday as was passing shop where it's always on offer. NSD today which has really helped the remaining food budget.

Also had £1.50 payable on tcb so requested that and sent it to the mortgage. Managed to drag myself to the gym after work and did 20 minutes of weights plus a 5k run. Nutrition has been pretty good today aswell.

One week until payday and a healthier looking bank account.

Childrens' parties really affect the bank balance and time at the weekends. As they get older they get invited to less parties. Having said that, dd is nearly 11 and had parties both says last weekend. One lasted 5 hours and the other was an hours drive away!

Debtfree, I used to wish time away to get to the 1st of the month to update balances. Now it just creeps up on me.

We continue to plod here. We've kindly been gifted some school uniform for ds so he has plenty for next year. His polo shirts need to last one more day as it's non uniform day Friday.

Small food shop of around £10 mainly on fruit and wraps. Remaining budget looking good so hoping to be able to put some towards our childcare costs.

I did some quick student loan calculations yesterday and factoring in payrises and incremental rises, it should be cleared by March 2026. Still seems to far away but that money could then be diverted to mortgage part 2.

After reading Jimmy's thread I'm reminded to also focus on pension planning. I logged into my ISA and that's had good growth this month which has motivated me to invest more into it.
