Another weekend has come and gone but it's been brilliant. Have spent the weekend with friends, laughed lots, took in some sea air and feel rested.
Have eaten too much and not moved enough the last two weeks though so need to remedy that from tomorrow.
Still have some money shuffling to do but will do that after dh gets paid this week and try and move a bit more into savings. Our overpayments oh mortgage part 2 are minimal at the moment whilst we have some other expenses. It's all about balance though and enjoying the journey.
I am wondering if we can survive on £14.09 of food shopping to keep spends under £250. It does need to last 7 days though so we'll see how far it stretches. Last weeks shop did include 2 bottles of wine that really shouldn't have been there though!

Thanks debtfree, hoping for another fab one this weekend. Have a few nice things planned and am looking forward to the sun making another appearance.
50p Tilly tidy today but it currently feels like slow progress with overpayments. Hopefully we can make a better OP when dh gets paid on Friday!
Couple of food shops also mean we are over my planned £250 supermarket budget. Planning a bbq at the weekend too so won't be as much of a surplus in this pot as planned.
Also need to get myself back to the gym this week. It's been two weeks since my last visit. I've decided to cancel in September so we can redirect funds elsewhere so think sub consciously I've given up. The plan is to finally get to a mini goal by our next holiday then continue with workouts at home saving myself £46 a month!

Well don't sunny mornings make a difference! Am really looking forward to spending lots of time outside this weekend.
£1.50 Tilly tidy yesterday from current account cash and another 50p Tilly tidy this morning. Dh gets paid tomorrow so hopefully a decent overpayment will be sent across then. I'm being a bit keep cautious as have childcare costs over the summer and we have a mini savings pot for something else.
Back on the nutrition/fitness wagon and being a bit more flexible with it so going to see how it works for me. Hopefully the heatwave will decrease my appetite as the 3 litres of water I drink daily don't do the job!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Sounds like a good plan with the gym monies!
I too need to get back on the wagon, not sure I was ever on it tbh!

That wagon is a bumpy ride debtfree, very easy to fall off or miss it altogether!
Not quite as sunny this morning but the sun made me productive after work yesterday. Managed half an hour of sitting in the sunshine aswell as a bit of weeding and dh helped me assemble our new firebasket. I also put the other garden items (rug, tray, candles) out to complete the look. I'm hoping they can all stay out the for at least a couple of weeks.
Downstairs shower room and kitchen cleaned before I went to bed, will try and hoover quickly before work this morning. I treated myself to two bunches of reduced flowers a couple of days ago (each bunch reduced from £5 to 50p) so it's helping having a vase on the breakfast bar.
Payday for dh so monies safely shuffled to places they can't be spent. Sent £403 to mortgage part one which is our inbuilt overpayment, requested 10p from tcb and overpaid it to mortgage part 2.
We now have £160 in summer holidays childcare pot, another £165 is needed so far. We also have £210 in another savings pot (all will be revealed) but still quite a bit more needed there. Also paid £126 off our September holiday. After all that, we still have plenty to live on. I just don't see the point of leaving it to temptation in the current account.
Hope the sun is already out wherever you are, enjoy the mini heatwave.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

All will be revealed, nothing major but a big decision for us and I don't want to jinx it. Had some extra funds land in account so extra £30 to that fund and £10.80 to the mortgage.
It's cloudy here this morning but stripped all the beds, one load on the line and the second just gone in the machine. Might hoover upstairs before it gets too hot.
Few last minute spends on way home from work last night on wine, and some bbq stuff. Considered buying a big paddling pool but realised it would barely get any use. £60 and a big water bill saved there!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Morning! Looks set to be another sunny day today which is great as have lots of outdoor plans. I got a bit carried away in Mr S yesterday buying nice bbq food but we had a lovely dinner and have a well stocked fridge. Did also buy some yellow sticker bargains.
I have made a mega money shuffle error and have sent the £403 overpayment to the mortgage twice! I have made a note not to send it next month and need to send some extra funds to the bills account.
So today's plans include the gym, I really must go, reading my book in the garden, finishing our family game of monopoly and Sunday lunch at my mums.
No Tilly tidies until I have rectified the bills account but looking forward to making a dent in the mortgage through July. I really can't believe we are almost at the summer holidays. This half term always seems to drag but it's absolutely flown.
