I once sent a £400 mortgage overpayment twice. And was only working on a £1000 budget for the whole month. It was squeaky!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Oh no. This wasn't my finest move Apple!!
Back from the gym and ran for the first time in a while. 5k in 34 minutes, hardly record breaking but got the steps in and I feel better for it. A day in the garden now awaits!
Bidding on an 3bay item so need to make sure I don't get too carried away!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Missed out on the 3bay item by £1 but in reality had i kept increasing my bid I could have got a bit carried away so probably for the best.
We have managed a NSD today which has been much needed as it's going to be a challenge to keep main account in credit without shuffling from too many pots. In good news, tilly tidies to mortgage part 2 have helped to bring the end date forward by 1 month so good to chip away at that one. Checked ISA accounts too and they finally seem to be on the up.
Hoping for a low spend day tomorrow and a straightforward money shuffle!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Having a whirlwind of a week and life slightly crazy right now!
Sending that extra overpayment was not helpful as constantly checking accounts and shuffling funds. Will save stoozed credit card payments for Friday and then we have a bank credit on Tuesday which will ease the pressure.
Also completed remaining summer holiday childcare forms and written several eye watering cheques!

First overpayment of the month made. £5 paid out from tcb plus a 7p Tilly tidy.
Currently payday seems a long way off so further money shuffles/stoozes may be needed.
Do have some projected spends this weekend but that should balance out mid month (fingers crossed).
Raining here this morning, probably because I watered the garden last night! My wild flowers are finally flowering and are started to look pretty rather than an unweeded area!

Feel like I'm constantly spending debtfree.
Had another busy weekend and I really feel like I need a day off just for me. If I don't sort something in the next two weeks it won't happen though as summer holiday break quickly approaches.
The money shuffle continues and is getting harder as funds become depleted! If pending transactions don't clear today we should buy ourselves a few more says of staying in the black as CB goes in tomorrow.
Washing machine on as rain forecast the end of the week. Will try and tackle a few housework jobs before work and his morning. I really need to go the gym after work so I hope I make it happen as really out of the zone at the moment. Today is the first step of getting back on the wagon.

Didn't make it to the gym and had a cream scone. Came hone from work to find dh baking which has not helped!
£4 mortgage overpayment today which was from current account rewards.
Came home to car tax reminders but we were told when we bought the cars they were £30 yearly road tax. Bit annoyed but guess we can't do anything about it and will just have to pay the extra £25 a month. The problem is when you've worked so hard to get monthly direct debits down to their lowest.....they can then only go in one direction.
Nsd today, another one tomorrow would be great to help with the monthly budget.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Another week that is disappearing fast. We had a huge life change recently and I am feeling rather stressed. However I'm sure things will settle down. It currently feels like I have a head full of thoughts/questions and life is extra busy.
Went to the gym after work yesterday (had to force myself) and had a much needed run and quick weights workout. Had to refocus on my nutrition as have been stress eating this week. I'm also not sleeping enough, due to the changes I'm staying up later and 6 hours sleep is not nearly enough for me.
£1.50 spends on bread yesterday so food budget not too bad for where we are in the month. I do need to increase our budget though as food costs are going to increase going forward.
Tcb money landed so have sent that to the account I had already overpaid the mortgage from. We have a few days grace of surviving my overpayment error last month before more bills go out.

Hope the stress head eases soon, I'm not surprised you're all up in the air though. Hope it's all going ok?"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
